AI agents process millions of micro‑payments on XRP Ledger while XRP settlements stay low

AI‑payment hub logs 4.5 M transactions

The XRPL AI Hub, a dashboard run by t54 labs, shows 4,491,820 all‑time transactions on the XRP Ledger. The same data shows only 5,836.71 XRP and 4,125.29 RLUSD (Ripple’s dollar‑peged stablecoin) have been settled.

These figures reflect the hub’s tracked activity, not every payment on the ledger.

Key numbers

  • 4,491,820 transactions recorded.
  • 5,836.71 XRP settled (≈ 0.01 % of total XRP supply).
  • 4,125.29 RLUSD settled.
  • 152 registered merchants on the hub.
  • Average of 199,059 payments per day over the past week.

How the hub works

Ripple introduced the XRPL AI Starter Kit on June 9, allowing software agents to make x402 payments. Agents can pay in XRP or RLUSD for API calls, AI inference and other digital services.

XRPL transaction fees are paid in XRP. The standard minimum fee is 10 drops (a tiny fraction of a token) and the fee is destroyed rather than given to validators.

Why transaction count isn’t demand

High transaction volume shows that the service can handle many tiny payments, but it does not prove that users are buying or holding XRP. The hub’s counters only track how many payments occur, not how much new XRP is purchased.

Market snapshot

On September 8, XRP traded around $1.40, giving it a market capitalization of about $87.5 billion and a 24‑hour trading volume of $2 billion. CryptoSlate’s price‑based market signal rated conditions as bullish (66 / 100).
