ARK Invest Adds Coinbase, Circle Shares, Sells Bullish as Crypto Stocks Slide

ARK Invest Buys Coinbase and Circle, Cuts Bullish

Cathie Wood's ARK Invest added shares in crypto exchange Coinbase and stablecoin issuer Circle across two trading sessions, while selling about $8 million in crypto exchange operator Bullish. The moves came as crypto-related stocks declined.

According to ARK's daily trade disclosures and closing prices from Yahoo Finance, the firm bought Coinbase shares worth an estimated $9 million and Circle shares worth $8 million on Friday and Monday. It sold 342,545 Bullish shares in the same period.

All three stocks closed lower on Monday. Coinbase fell 3.98% to $137.83, Circle slipped 0.63% to $72.08, and Bullish dropped 5.7% to $22.54.

Across three of ARK's exchange-traded funds (ETFs) — pooled investment products that trade like stocks and hold a basket of assets — ARK purchased 64,208 Coinbase shares and 110,551 Circle shares.

ARK also bought around $646,000 in Robinhood shares on Monday, a company whose platform lets people trade stocks and crypto. Robinhood fell 1.4% to $83.80.

Circle ranked among the top five holdings in three ARK ETFs as of Tuesday. Its stake totaled $270.3 million (4.6%) of ARKK, $71.4 million (4.4%) of ARKW, and $42.6 million (5.9%) of ARKF, according to ARK's holdings disclosures.

What This Moves Confirm

ARK's own trade disclosures confirm the trades on Friday and Monday, and Yahoo Finance confirms the closing prices. ARK's holdings filings confirm Circle's share of each fund.

The estimates for the trade values come from matching ARK's disclosed share counts with the closing prices reported by Yahoo Finance.

Why It Matters

ARK typically favors longer-term growth themes, and its trades signal how its fund managers weigh crypto-related companies amid market dips. Raising Circle's position in three of its funds also shows growing weight on stablecoin issuers inside its portfolio.
