Binance opens free AI trading tier, but users still fund and approve every strategy

Binance drops the monthly fee for its AI strategy tool

Binance released a free Standard plan for its AI Pro product on Oct. 19. The plan lets users create, test, and run automated trading strategies on the exchange (a platform where people buy and sell crypto) without paying a monthly software fee.

The free tier includes 250,000 usage credits that reset every month and runs on DeepSeek. Users can preview a strategy, try it with paper trading (simulated trades that use no real money), and then put it into live operation.

Credit top-ups are not allowed on the free plan. A separate Premium plan costs $19.99 per month and includes 10 million monthly credits, extra AI models where available, and the option to buy more credits.

Key points from the announcement

  • The free Standard plan carries 250,000 credits per month and no top-ups.
  • Premium costs $19.99 a month with 10 million credits and optional extra credit purchases.
  • The older beta runs separately, and existing subscriptions stay active.
  • Users must approve each workflow and move funds into a dedicated sub-account before it trades.
  • Binance's checks cover whether the code runs, not whether a strategy is good or likely to make money.

What Binance's own materials say

Binance's announcement warns that the products and services it describes may not be available in some regions. It also states that AI outputs can contain errors and are not guaranteed, and that users remain responsible for their investment decisions and trading losses.

According to Binance, a workflow check only tests whether the coded logic executes without errors. The company says those checks do not assess a strategy's profitability, its quality, or how it is likely to perform. A workflow can pass a functionality check and still be a poor trading idea.

The older paid beta is still running

The free tier is part of a new AI Pro release and is separate from Binance's earlier paid beta. That beta opened on March 25 to a limited initial group with an introductory charge of $9.99 per month.

First-time activators got a seven-day trial at no charge if they turned the service off during that period. Binance says the beta continues separately and existing subscriptions remain active. Users can run the beta and the new AI Pro at the same time, so starting on free Standard does not automatically cancel a beta subscription.

How a strategy goes from idea to live trading

Users describe a trading idea in conversation, and AI Pro turns it into a visual workflow for review. Binance's examples include a plan for recurring Bitcoin purchases and a daily market report.

Approval and funding are separate steps. Binance says the user must explicitly approve the workflow before it goes live, then transfer funds to a dedicated sub-account. Each strategy runs in its own isolated sub-account instead of trading through the main account.

Changing the logic of a workflow creates a new version that needs another approval before it can trade. After deployment, users can pause or adjust the workflow, or revoke its access.

Free software is not free trading

The word free applies to the software subscription. Users still supply the money for live trading, and Binance publishes a separate trading-fee schedule. The Standard price should not be read as a promise that every trade is free.

What is confirmed

  • Binance introduced the free Standard plan for AI Pro on Oct. 19.
  • Standard includes 250,000 monthly credits, uses DeepSeek, and does not allow credit top-ups.
  • Premium costs $19.99 per month with 10 million monthly credits.
  • The March 25 beta continues separately at an introductory $9.99 per month, and existing subscriptions stay active.
  • Users approve workflows and fund dedicated sub-accounts before live trading.
  • Binance says its checks do not measure strategy quality or likely performance, and that users bear responsibility for decisions and losses.

Why this matters for people using Binance

The free plan lowers the cost of trying AI-assisted strategy building, but it does not shift risk away from the user. A strategy can pass Binance's technical check and still lose money, because the check is not a judgment about the idea behind it. Users also keep control of when automation starts, whether it continues, and how much money it can access.
