Bitcoin Approaches $78,000 as Altcoins Lead Market Recovery
Bitcoin rises for third consecutive day
Bitcoin climbed back toward the $78,000 mark on Friday, recovering from an overnight low of $75,972. This move marks the third straight day of gains for the largest cryptocurrency. The total value of the entire crypto market increased by 2%, reaching approximately $2.66 trillion.
The recovery follows a quarter-point interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve earlier this week. While traditional markets were prepared for a strong reaction, the crypto market remained resilient, with prices rising as investors showed a broader appetite for risk.
Top performing cryptocurrencies in the latest rally
- Hyperliquid (HYPE) rose more than 11% to reach nearly $89.
- Zcash (ZEC) increased by 8% to approximately $1,472.
- Solana (SOL), a popular blockchain network for decentralized apps, gained 6% to trade just above $106.
- Other notable gainers include BNB and Dogecoin (DOGE), which both rose by about 4%.
- Bitcoin, Ether (ETH), and XRP each saw gains of roughly 2%.
Analysts observe shifting focus to altcoins
Market analysts note that traders are starting to focus on altcoins—digital currencies other than Bitcoin. According to FxPro analyst Alex Kuptsikevich, none of the 40 most liquid coins saw a price drop during this period. Among this group, NEAR led with a 30% increase, followed by UNI at 26% and APT at 18%.
Despite these gains, experts point out that the "altcoin season" index remains low, suggesting that the broader shift into these smaller assets is still in its early stages.
Confirmed market data and price levels
Bitcoin successfully recovered its overnight losses, trading just below $78,000 during Asian morning hours. Data shows that the overall crypto market value reached $2.66 trillion. While most major coins saw positive movement, TRX was reported as a laggard, gaining less than 1% during the rally.
Potential resistance and upcoming moves
Bitcoin currently faces a technical challenge near $82,000, which is the upper edge of its recent trading range. Some analysts expect that traders may sell their holdings to lock in profits over the weekend, which could slow down further price increases in the short term.
