Bitcoin Suisse to shift up to half of Swiss jobs abroad
Company to relocate staff
Bitcoin Suisse, a Swiss crypto financial services firm, will move up to half of its Swiss workforce to other countries. The change will affect about 60 of the 120 jobs that are currently in Switzerland.
Key points
- Back‑office and administrative roles will be shifted to lower‑cost hubs in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Vietnam.
- The move is part of a plan to grow the firm’s global wealth and asset‑management business.
- CEO Andrej Majcen says the decision is driven by cost savings, not by weakness in the crypto market.
- Bitcoin Suisse has recently obtained licences in Liechtenstein and Bermuda and received regulatory approval for its Middle‑East subsidiary in Abu Dhabi.
CEO explains the move
Andre Majcen told Finews that operating the affected services in Bratislava and Vietnam would be “significantly less expensive.” He added that the restructuring supports the company’s strategy to expand internationally and to build a broader wealth‑management platform.
About Bitcoin Suisse
Founded in Zug in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse offers crypto trading, custody, staking and lending services. In June, the firm announced it was targeting institutional clients, family offices, asset managers and high‑net‑worth individuals as part of its evolution toward a global wealth‑management platform.
Implications
Moving back‑office functions to cheaper locations could reduce operating costs and help the firm scale its services worldwide. The expansion may also increase competition for crypto‑related wealth‑management services.
Future plans
Bitcoin Suisse intends to establish a new location in Vietnam in the coming years and will continue to grow its presence in other international markets.
