Bitmine expands Ethereum holdings in weekly update
Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced on Monday that it has increased its holdings of Ether (ETH), the native token of the Ethereum blockchain. The company acquired 12,532 ETH over the past week, bringing its total treasury to 6,028,946 tokens.
With a total circulating supply of 122.1 million ETH, Bitmine now controls approximately 4.9% of all existing Ethereum tokens. Based on recent prices, these holdings are valued at about $15.3 billion.
Fast facts about Bitmine’s crypto treasury
- The company holds 6.03 million ETH tokens.
- Total company assets, including crypto, cash, and investments, reached $16.2 billion as of October 11.

Details of the company’s staking strategy
Staking is a process where crypto owners lock up their tokens to help verify transactions and secure a blockchain network in exchange for rewards. Bitmine currently stakes its tokens through its own MAVAN platform and other partners.
The company reported that it expects to earn roughly $336 million in annualized revenue from these staking activities. This estimate is based on a recent yield of 2.61%. Bitmine projected that if all its ETH tokens were staked, annual revenue could reach $400 million.
Analysis from Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee
Chairman Tom Lee commented on the growth of the treasury, noting that Ethereum has performed strongly compared to traditional assets like the S&P 500 index. He suggested that digital asset treasuries (DATs) are becoming a factor in the market by removing a portion of the token supply from active trading.
Lee pointed to several factors that could influence future market cycles, including the tokenization of assets and the intersection of digital assets with artificial intelligence. He stated that the current market dynamics are favorable compared to previous years when large corporate treasuries were not holding significant amounts of cryptocurrency.
Current state of company assets
In addition to its Ethereum holdings, Bitmine reported several other investments and cash reserves. This includes a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and an $85 million investment in Eightco Holdings. The company also holds $612 million in cash and marketable securities. Total combined assets were reported at $16.2 billion as of October 11.
Why these treasury holdings matter
When a single company holds nearly 5% of the total supply of a major cryptocurrency, it reduces the amount of that asset available for others to buy or sell. By staking the majority of these tokens, the company also contributes to the security of the Ethereum network while generating a predictable stream of revenue from the rewards earned.
