Capital B Raises €21 Million to Buy More Bitcoin

Capital B secures funding to expand bitcoin holdings

Capital B, a French company listed on Euronext Growth, has raised €21 million ($24 million) to purchase more bitcoin. The funds were raised through a private placement involving Blockstream’s Adam Back and asset manager TOBAM. The company says the new capital could buy about 270 additional bitcoins.

Capital B describes itself as Europe’s first bitcoin treasury company. It currently holds 3,145 bitcoins, worth roughly $245 million based on today’s prices. With the new purchases, its total stack would reach approximately 3,415 BTC. The company is currently the 27th largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury in the world, according to Bitcoin Treasuries.

Key details of the fundraising round

  • Capital B sold 36,219,070 shares at €0.58 each.
  • The shares were sold at a 6.45% discount to Wednesday’s closing price.
  • After fees and transaction costs, net proceeds are expected to be around €19.9 million.
  • The money will accelerate the company's strategy to hold bitcoin as a primary treasury reserve asset.

Building the treasury position

Capital B has been actively building its bitcoin stash throughout 2026. In May, the company acquired 192 bitcoins for €13 million after completing three separate fundraising rounds. This latest raise continues that pattern of using public markets to accumulate bitcoin.

The move comes as other companies also look to raise funds for bitcoin purchases. However, the broader sector has faced challenges since 2025 when bitcoin prices dropped. Some companies have been forced to sell their holdings, including Strategy, the largest corporate bitcoin holder, which recently sold nearly 7,000 BTC to maintain dividends.

Context from other market moves

While Capital B expands, other public companies are shifting strategies. Genius Group, an AI-powered education company listed on the NYSE, announced plans to build parallel AI and bitcoin treasuries worth $1.6 billion. This follows the company selling its entire bitcoin reserve earlier this year to pay off $8.5 million in debt.

What is confirmed

Capital B raised €21 million via private placement. The investors include Adam Back and TOBAM. The company holds 3,145 BTC. The funds will be used to buy more bitcoin, potentially adding 270 coins. The share discount and fee structure were disclosed in the Friday announcement.
