Selection Process — CSIR Technician 2026

CSIR will select you in three steps:

Screening: CSIR will shortlist applications based on your marks and experience.
Trade Test: You must pass a practical test in your trade. Only those who pass can take the written exam.
Written Exam: Three papers:
- Paper-I: Mental Ability (50 questions, 100 marks, no negative marking).
- Paper-II: General Awareness (25 questions) + English (25 questions). Total 150 marks. Wrong answers lose 1 mark.
- Paper-III: Trade questions (50 questions, 150 marks). Wrong answers lose 1 mark.
CSIR will prepare the final merit list using only Paper-II and Paper-III marks.

How to Apply — CSIR Technician 2026

Follow these steps to submit your application:

Visit the CSIR recruitment portal.
Click the “TECHNICIAN-2026” link.
Register with your name, email, and mobile number. You’ll get a user ID and password.
Log in and fill your personal details, education, and work experience. You cannot edit these later.
Upload your documents:
- Passport photo (JPG, <50 KB)
- Signature (black ink, JPG, <50 KB)
- Class 10th certificate, ITI certificate, experience letters (PDF, <1 MB each)
Capture your live photo using your webcam or mobile QR scan. Blink once to trigger the capture.
Pay the fee online through SBI Collect if you’re not exempted. Enter the transaction code in the portal.
Submit before 17 September 2026, 05:00 PM. Print your confirmation page.
