DeFi Development Corp plans $20 million stock offering to buy more Solana
DeFi Development Corp, a Nasdaq-listed company focused on Solana, has proposed a public offering of up to $20 million in Variable Rate Series C perpetual preferred stock. The funds raised will be used to buy more Solana (SOL) and other crypto-related investments.
Offering details
The preferred stock will have a $10 stated amount, with dividends starting at an annual rate of 13%. The first regular dividend payment is scheduled for October 1, 2026. At closing, the company plans to establish a dividend reserve equal to the first 12 months of payments at the 13% rate, funded by cash, financial instruments, or digital assets.
R.F. Lafferty & Co. is the book-running manager for the offering.
Recent SOL purchases
Last week, DeFi Development Corp resumed SOL purchases, acquiring roughly 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.14. This brought its total holdings to approximately 2.33 million SOL and equivalents.
The company’s CEO, Joseph Onorati, stated that DeFi Development Corp is designed to provide investors with leveraged exposure to Solana, combining amplified SOL exposure with trading liquidity and treasury yield.
Stock and SOL performance
On Monday, DeFi Development Corp’s stock (DFDV) rose 8.03% to close at $5.38. The stock has gained 110% over the past month but remains flat year-to-date.
Solana’s price increased 1.9% in the past 24 hours to $103.3. The cryptocurrency has risen 41% over the past month but is down 17% since the start of 2026.
