DriveWealth to Use Ripple's RLUSD for Stablecoin Settlement and Cross-Border Payments
DriveWealth and Ripple Announce RLUSD Integration
Brokerage infrastructure firm DriveWealth has partnered with Ripple to integrate stablecoin settlement, cross-border payments, and digital asset custody services into its platform. The companies will use Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger.
The rollout begins in Europe, with plans to expand to the United States. DriveWealth clients will be able to fund and manage collateral accounts using stablecoins — cryptocurrencies pegged to the value of the US dollar — that convert to cash in near real time. The firms are also exploring equity financing opportunities through Ripple Prime.
Key Details
- DriveWealth will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for settlement and cross-border payments
- Launch starts in Europe, with US expansion planned
- Clients can fund collateral accounts 24/5 with stablecoins converting to cash quickly
- Equity financing through Ripple Prime is under discussion
- The partnership will be discussed at Ripple Swell on October 28
What Company Leaders Said
DriveWealth CEO Naureen Hassan said: "We've already enabled 24/5 trading; now we need the funding to match, so clients can move with the markets instead of waiting for them." She added that the partnership extends the same funding and custody experience clients rely on to stablecoins and digital assets.
Jack McDonald, Ripple's SVP of stablecoins, said: "DriveWealth came to Ripple with a specific challenge around cross-border settlement, but it quickly became clear there was an opportunity to do much more together." He noted the integration modernizes how money moves across trading, custody, and settlement.
Ripple's Recent Institutional Push
The deal comes as Ripple continues to expand its stablecoin into institutional finance. Earlier this week, Standard Chartered launched custody for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. This is not the first recent Ripple partnership — earlier in 2026, Ripple and LMAX Group struck a deal to expand institutional stablecoin use with $150 million in financing, and this week Ripple and Stripe-owned Privy partnered to bring embedded wallets to the XRP Ledger.
What Is Confirmed
The partnership between DriveWealth and Ripple is confirmed. The integration will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, starting in Europe before expanding to the US. Both company leaders made public statements confirming the deal. The exact timeline for the US expansion and equity financing discussion has not been disclosed.
Why This Matters
The deal signals growing institutional adoption of stablecoins for settlement and custody. DriveWealth serves brokerage platforms, meaning its clients could gain access to stablecoin-funded accounts. Ripple continues to position RLUSD as a settlement layer for institutional finance.
