Note: Candidates who have completed a three-year tenure of Senior Residency or already served one year as a Junior Resident cannot apply for Senior Resident posts.
Salary — GMCH Chandigarh Recruitment 2026
The pay range depends on the post you apply for:
- Level-9: Rs. 53,100 per month (for some Demonstrator and MBBS-level posts)
- Level-11: Rs. 67,700 per month plus NPA at 20% (for Senior Resident posts in Anaesthesia, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Cardiology, CTVS, Cardiac Anaesthesia and others)
Selection Process
The recruitment has four stages:
- Written Test — Objective-type MCQ exam held in Chandigarh
- Interview — Shortlisted candidates from the merit list
- Document Verification
- Final Merit List
The written test for Senior Residents, CMO, Resident Anaesthetist, Resident Pathologist and Demonstrators (PG) will take place on 03 November 2026. The written test for Demonstrator/MO/LMO/EMO (MBBS) and Junior Resident (MBBS & BDS) will be on 04 November 2026.
Who Can Apply
You need the following to be eligible:
- Education: MBBS, BDS, MD/MS/DNB/M.Ch/D.M, or M.Sc. (Medical) as applicable per post
- Registration: State Medical Council or Medical Council of India registration is mandatory
- Age: 30 to 45 years as on 28 October 2026 (relaxation applies for reserved categories)
