Hashkey becomes first Asian crypto firm in DTCC tokenization working group
Hashkey has joined the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Digital Assets Advisory Services Industry Working Group as the first Asian digital asset service provider. The group includes over 100 global financial institutions, such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Nasdaq, and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The working group aims to define how tokenized assets—digital versions of real-world assets like stocks or bonds—are issued, settled, and protected at an institutional level. DTCC, a major provider of post-trade services in traditional finance, plans to launch access to tokenized securities in October.
DTCC currently holds $114 trillion in liquid assets, including stocks and exchange-traded funds. In December 2025, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a “no action” letter to a DTCC subsidiary, allowing it to offer a new tokenization service. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has indicated this is part of a broader effort to support innovation in transitioning markets to blockchain technology.
