Kinetiq Opens Elysium Testnet for Hyperliquid-Focused DeFi Apps
Elysium Testnet Goes Live
Kinetiq opened the testnet for Elysium on September 22, 2026. Elysium is the company's Hyperliquid layer 2 solution designed for decentralized finance applications. The testnet launch gives developers access to a published chain ID, a public RPC endpoint, a block explorer, a bridge, and a faucet.
Chain Details and Infrastructure
Elysium runs on an Arbitrum Orbit chain using Nitro and ArbOS technology. The testnet has chain ID 99801 and RPC endpoint at testnet-rpc.elysium.kinetiq.xyz. The chain settles to HyperEVM, chain ID 999, and uses an AnyTrust data availability committee. Kinetiq runs Conduit's G2 sequencer on SOC 2 Type 2-compliant infrastructure. HYPE serves as the gas token throughout the network.
Why Throughput Matters
Elysium targets 300 million gas per second on blocks of 100 to 200 milliseconds. This compares to HyperEVM, which handles 3 million gas per second on regular blocks and only 30 million gas on 60-second big blocks. Kinetiq documentation states this represents roughly two orders of magnitude more gas per second than HyperEVM. The chain is designed to support sustained high-frequency trading activity.
Key Numbers
- Testnet chain ID: 99801
- Target gas throughput: 300 million per second
- Kinetiq total value locked: $1.31 billion
- Sequencer fee split: 25% builders, 25% treasury, 50% for KNTQ buybacks
Current Testnet Activity
The testnet explorer shows the chain's first block was produced on September 11. As of September 22, the testnet had produced about 27,800 blocks carrying roughly 57,400 transactions across 346 addresses and 96 deployed contracts. The bridge accepts HYPE and HyperEVM testnet ERC-20 tokens at 1:1. Withdrawals back to HyperEVM are not yet available on the bridge.
What the Fee Structure Looks Like
Kinetiq's sequencer fee split routes 25% of revenue to builders deploying on the chain, 25% to the Kinetiq treasury, and 50% to programmatic open-market purchases of KNTQ tokens. All purchased KNTQ is sent to the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund and burned. Kinetiq says fees are tuned so market makers can refresh quotes five to 10 times per second cheaply.
Developer Access
Kinetiq directed builders to a Telegram group and its Discord for access questions. The builder documentation lists testnet chain ID 99801 and the RPC endpoint. Mainnet chain ID, RPC endpoints, and explorer are marked as coming soon. No mainnet launch date has been announced.
