Mirae Asset Securities' Hong Kong unit launches tokenized notes on Solana

The Hong Kong unit of Mirae Asset Securities, one of South Korea's largest securities firms, has issued tokenized notes on the Solana blockchain. The notes were sold to institutional investors.

The issue consists of six-month floating-rate notes. They were launched under the firm's $3 billion structured note program.

What the transaction involved

According to the firm's Wednesday announcement, Singapore-based digital market infrastructure operator Marketnode acted as the authorized distributor.

Mirae Asset Securities handled the token issuance, payments, and the lifecycle of the notes using its own digital infrastructure. The company said the transaction could serve as a model for distributing a wider range of structured products through blockchain-based channels.

Why this matters for traditional finance

Tokenized notes are securities represented as digital assets on a blockchain. A blockchain is a shared ledger that records transactions across many computers. This move shows a large, established securities firm using that technology to reach institutional investors.

Broader digital asset push

Mirae Asset Securities belongs to South Korea's Mirae Asset Financial Group, whose businesses include brokerage, investment banking, asset management, and insurance. The group has been expanding into digital assets.

In July, affiliate Mirae Asset Consulting acquired a controlling stake in crypto exchange Korbit. The exchange has since rebranded as Digital X.

The group's asset management arm, Mirae Asset Global Investments, operates the Global X and TIGER exchange-traded fund (ETF) brands. An ETF is a fund that trades on an exchange like a stock. As of June 2026, the firm's website listed $275 billion in ETF assets under management and described its ETF business as the world's 12th-largest.
