Pay is stipend as per extant rules applicable. Training period and stipend follow the same rules. You must sign a Contract of Apprenticeship Training. This training does not guarantee a job in Railways after completion. No hostel facility is given.

Who Can Apply — RRC NR Act Apprentice 2026

You can apply if you have passed 10th class in 10+2 system with at least 50% marks from a recognised Board. You also need ITI in the relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT. Both qualifications must be passed by 06/11/2026.

You must also meet physical fitness rules under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992. PwBD candidates should apply only for slots for their disability type. Fill the form in English or Hindi. Submit only one application. If you submit more than one, all will be rejected. Apply only to a cluster and unit where your ITI trade slots are available.

You cannot apply if your 10th or ITI result was awaited on 06/11/2026. You also cannot apply if RRB or RRC has debarred you for life or for a period that is not yet over.

Selection Process — RRC NR Act Apprentice 2026

There is no written test and no viva. RRC NR will first screen and check your application. Then it will make a merit list.

Merit is based on the average of your 10th marks percentage and ITI marks percentage. Both have equal weight. If two candidates tie, the older candidate gets priority. If age is also same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier gets priority. The final merit list will be cluster-wise, trade-wise and community-wise.

Shortlisted candidates must attend document verification with a medical certificate. If marks you entered online do not match your original mark sheet, your application will be rejected.

How to Apply for RRC NR Act Apprentice 2026

Follow these steps to submit your form:

1. Open www.rrcnr.org and click on Engagement of Act Apprentice online application.
2. Register with your name, father name, community, category, mobile number, email ID and date of birth.
3. You will get a login password by email and SMS.
4. Log in and fill the application form carefully. Pay the online fee if you are not exempted.
5. Upload photo, signature and thumb impression in JPG format, each between 10 to 50 KB. Also upload your certificates.
6. Submit the form and take a print of the application and fee slip for your records.
7. Submit before 11 December 2026. You cannot change anything after final submission.

Keep ready: proof of date of birth, 10th mark sheet and certificate, ITI consolidated mark sheet or Provisional National Trade Certificate, National Trade Certificate, and category certificate in the prescribed format if applicable. Ex-servicemen need discharge or serving certificate.
