Spain’s Bit2Me Launches Bit2Shield to Help Law Enforcement Track Crypto
Bit2Me creates unit to assist police and courts
Bit2Me, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Spain, has launched a specialized company called Bit2Shield. An exchange is a platform where users can buy, sell, and trade digital currencies. The new unit will assist law enforcement agencies, courts, and banks in tracing and managing digital assets.
The company, legally registered as CryptoShield S.L., will help investigators during searches and seizures. It is designed to extract data from wallets, which are digital tools used to store cryptocurrency, and provide forensic reports for use in court cases.

Success in tracking assets for Interpol and Europol
This new unit formalizes work that Bit2Me was already performing for public authorities. In 2025, the exchange processed 1.5 million euros in seized cryptocurrency for agencies such as Interpol, Europol, and the Spanish police.
Bit2Me used blockchain analytics tools to trace these assets before converting them into euros for the government. Bit2Shield will continue this work by arranging the sale of seized assets when ordered by authorities and sending the proceeds to government bank accounts.
Legal structure and regulatory compliance
Bit2Me stated that Bit2Shield is not considered a crypto service provider under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rules. This is because the unit focuses only on investigations, forensics, and training rather than trading services.
When seized cryptocurrency needs to be converted into euros, the task will be handled by Bitcoinforme S.L. This is a separate Bit2Me entity that is authorized by Spanish regulators. The new unit will be led by Adrián Maroño, a former member of the Spanish Civil Guard’s investigations department.
Why this matters for the crypto industry
The launch of Bit2Shield marks a move by Bit2Me to expand beyond retail trading. By providing infrastructure and forensic services to banks and government bodies, the company is positioning itself as a technical partner for public authorities dealing with digital asset crimes.
