Strategy, the bitcoin treasury company led by Michael Saylor, has acquired an additional 950 bitcoin for approximately $75.7 million. The purchases were made at an average price of $79,670 per bitcoin between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

How the purchase was funded
The latest bitcoin acquisitions were paid for using Strategy's USD Cash reserve. The company also repurchased 1.77 million STRC preferred shares for approximately $174 million during the same period. Additionally, $57.4 million from its USD Reserve was used to pay dividends on its preferred stock and interest on its outstanding debt. As of Sept. 20, Strategy reported $5.04 billion in its USD Reserve and $1.05 billion in USD Cash.

Michael Saylor posted a bitcoin acquisition tracker chart to X on Sunday with the caption "A little more orange." Similar posts in the past have typically been followed by a bitcoin acquisition announcement the next day, though the company's approach has varied in recent weeks.
Where Strategy stands among bitcoin treasury companies
According to Bitcoin Treasuries data, 196 public companies have adopted some form of bitcoin acquisition model. The other largest holders after Strategy include Twenty One (43,514 BTC), Metaplanet (43,000 BTC), MARA (35,577 BTC), and Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company (30,021 BTC).
Stock and bitcoin performance
Strategy's stock rose 16.4% last week, closing Friday at $153.92. The stock is roughly flat year-to-date after a substantial recovery but remains down 54.2% over the past year. Over the same period, bitcoin rose 5.3%.
