Strategy shareholders approve daily dividends for four preferred stocks
Strategy shareholders approve daily dividend shift
Strategy, the largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company, announced on October 28, 2026 that shareholders have approved changes to pay daily dividends on four of its preferred stocks. Bitcoin treasury companies hold large amounts of Bitcoin — the world's largest cryptocurrency — as a core asset on their balance sheets.
Based on preliminary voting results, 99.3% of votes cast were in favor of the amendments. Preferred stocks are a type of stock that pays regular set dividends to holders.
Key details of the change
- Four preferred securities are affected: STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD
- 99.3% of votes cast supported the amendments, per preliminary results
- Annual dividend rates range from 8% to 12% and will not change
- Dividends will add up every day, including weekends and holidays
What Strategy says about the move
The amendments shift dividend payments from semi-monthly or quarterly schedules to every business day. While actual cash payments go out only on business days, the dividend amount accrues daily throughout the year.
Strategy said the changes are meant to shorten the time between earning dividends and receiving cash. The company also said daily payments should help support liquidity — the ability to easily buy and sell shares — and price stability for its preferred shares.
STRC currently has a variable dividend rate set at 12%. STRF and STRD pay fixed rates. STRK pays a fixed rate and also gives investors the option to convert their holdings into Strategy common stock.
Strive already offers daily dividend stocks
Strive, another Bitcoin treasury company, launched daily cash dividends on its SATA preferred stock in June 2026 — months before Strategy's planned rollout.
Strive has since introduced a second preferred security called SATS, which offers a fixed 15% annual dividend rate. Daily payments for SATS are scheduled to begin November 9, 2026, subject to official declaration.
Strive closed a $630 million SATS share offering on October 20, selling 7 million shares at $90 each. The company said the money raised could be used for Bitcoin purchases and other corporate purposes, but it has not disclosed how much it plans to allocate to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin treasury holdings compared
Strategy remains the largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, with 848,517 BTC on its balance sheet, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.net.
Strive ranks fourth among corporate Bitcoin holders, with 43,000 BTC.
When daily payments begin
Strategy plans to start daily dividend payments on STRC first, beginning November 2, 2026.
The other three securities — STRF, STRK, and STRD — will switch to daily payments on January 4, 2027.
