Strive Adds 1,107 Bitcoin to Reach 27,462 Holdings
Strive expands treasury with latest Bitcoin buy
Strive acquired 1,107 bitcoins last week for approximately $94.5 million. This purchase pushed the company's total holdings above 27,400 BTC. The move continues the firm's strategy to increase its position among public companies holding digital assets.
The acquisition took place between September 21 and September 25. According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the average price paid was $85,396 per bitcoin. Strive now holds a total of 27,462 BTC.
Capital sources and weekly totals
- Strive bought 1,107 BTC for $94.5 million last week.
- Total holdings reached 27,462 BTC.
- Warrant exercises raised $12.4 million in gross proceeds.
- Sales of SATA perpetual preferred stock provided 85% of the capital.
- The company ranks fifth globally among public bitcoin holders.
Funding mix shifts toward preferred stock
The company raised funds through two main channels: the exercise of outstanding warrants and sales of its SATA perpetual preferred stock. Warrant exercises brought in $12.4 million, a decrease from the $21.2 million raised the previous week. Sales of the preferred stock accounted for 85% of the capital raised last week, up from 57.7% the week before.
This latest purchase was slightly smaller than the prior week's addition of 1,355 BTC. Despite the smaller volume, the company continues to accumulate assets to meet its year-end targets.
Path to second place by year-end
CEO Matt Cole has stated that reaching the second spot among public bitcoin holders by the end of 2026 is possible, though he noted it is not his base case scenario. To overtake the current second-place holder, Twenty One, which holds 43,514 BTC, Strive would need to acquire an additional 16,053 BTC.
With 13 full weeks remaining in the year, the company would need to average roughly 1,235 BTC per week to achieve this goal. This calculation assumes Twenty One does not make any further purchases.
Current market standing
Strive remains the fifth-largest public bitcoin holder. It trails behind Strategy, Twenty One, Metaplanet, and MARA. At the time of reporting, Strive's common stock (ticker: ASST) was trading at $29.35, down 0.3% on Monday. The stock is up nearly 70% year-to-date.
In comparison, Michael Saylor's Strategy (MSTR) is down 6% year-to-date, while Twenty One (XXI) has lost 26% over the same period.
Bitcoin price context
Bitcoin's price experienced a decline on Sunday night, trading at a one-week low of $83,000. This price movement occurred around the time of Strive's reported purchase.
