Underdog adds crypto and stablecoin deposits with zerohash

Crypto funding coming to Underdog prediction markets

Prediction market (a platform where people can trade on the outcome of future events) operator Underdog has partnered with crypto infrastructure (the systems that help connect digital assets to apps) provider zerohash to bring cryptocurrency and stablecoin (tokens designed to keep a stable value, often tied to the U.S. dollar) deposits to its platform.

The new funding option is expected to launch later this year for eligible users.

How deposits will work

  • Easy funding: Eligible users will be able to fund their accounts directly through the Underdog app using supported digital assets.
  • No extra steps: Users will not need to manage wallet addresses or select blockchain networks when making deposits.
  • Round the clock: The service is designed to allow near-instant transfers at any time.
  • More choices: Crypto and stablecoin deposits will supplement existing methods, including debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and bank transfers.

What isn't known yet

Underdog has not stated which cryptocurrencies or stablecoins will be supported. No details about specific limits or availability have been given at this time.

Underdog's current reach

Underdog has more than 11 million registered accounts. In July, IG Group agreed to acquire the company in a deal worth up to $1.3 billion. That transaction is expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027.

According to DeFiRate data, Underdog recorded $1.4 billion in trading volume over the 30 days ending Oct. 21, a 133% increase from the previous period. It remains well behind Kalshi's $81.5 billion and the combined $17.2 billion recorded by Polymarket's US and international platforms.
