WisdomTree and MoonPay team up to widen US access to tokenized Treasury fund
WisdomTree and MoonPay announce a partnership
WisdomTree and MoonPay said on Thursday that they are partnering to widen access for US investors to a tokenized Treasury money market fund. MoonPay also plans to use that fund as part of its stablecoin reserves.
The fund is the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX). It is a tokenized money market mutual fund, which means fund shares are represented as digital tokens on a blockchain, a shared digital record of transactions. The fund aims to keep a $1 share price.
Under the arrangement, WisdomTree is using MoonPay's technology to build an access point for the fund. The companies said this gives WisdomTree access to MoonPay's network of more than 35 million accounts. MoonPay provides infrastructure for moving between regular money and digital assets.
Key details of the deal
- WisdomTree is using MoonPay technology to develop an access point for WTGXX, aimed at US investors.
- The companies said the deal connects WisdomTree to MoonPay's network of more than 35 million accounts.
- MoonPay plans to use WTGXX in its stablecoin reserve management. A stablecoin is a digital token designed to hold a steady value, usually tied to the US dollar.
- MoonPay launched its enterprise stablecoin business in November 2025 and issues dollar-denominated stablecoins on several blockchains, backed by US dollars and other high-quality liquid assets held in segregated accounts.
- WisdomTree manages about $176.7 billion in assets.
How big the tokenized Treasury market is
On Thursday, the tokenized US Treasury market stood at about $15.4 billion, according to RWA.xyz data cited in the report. WTGXX accounted for about $1.23 billion of that total.
The fund recorded net flows of $466 million over the past 30 days. Net flows are calculated as the difference between tokens created and tokens destroyed. The report said Ondo's US Dollar Yield fund (USDY) was the only other tokenized Treasurys fund with positive net flows in that period, at $66 million.
What is confirmed
Confirmed by the companies' announcement: the partnership, the plan to build an access point for WTGXX using MoonPay's technology, MoonPay's plan to hold WTGXX in its stablecoin reserves, and the stated reach of MoonPay's network. MoonPay's enterprise stablecoin business launch and the backing of its stablecoins are also stated by the company.
The market size and flow figures come from RWA.xyz data cited in the report, not from the companies. WisdomTree's roughly $176.7 billion in managed assets is reported as a company figure.
What is not yet clear
The announcement did not give a launch date or timeline for the new access point, and it did not say how many US investors could use it or under what terms.
WisdomTree said the collaboration could expand to more tokenized funds, including in markets outside the United States. That is a possibility the company raised, not a confirmed plan.
Why this matters
The deal ties together two parts of the tokenized asset market: a fund that holds short-term US government debt in token form, and a company that issues stablecoins and needs reserves behind them. Tokenized Treasury funds have attracted money recently, with WTGXX and one other fund reporting positive net flows over the past 30 days, according to RWA.xyz data.
