One exam, three levels
HTET is run by the Board of School Education Haryana in Bhiwani. Level 1 is for primary classes, Level 2 for upper primary and Level 3 for senior secondary. The level is chosen during the application, but the photo and signature rules stay the same across all three, so one set of files can be prepared before you decide.

High floors, narrow ceilings
HTET is unusual because the floors are high. A photograph must reach 50 KB and a signature 20 KB, while the ceiling is only 100 KB for both. That leaves a narrow band. A heavily compressed file fails the floor; a noisy phone photo can overshoot the ceiling. Save at moderate quality and watch the estimate move as you adjust the crop.
Photograph checklist
- Plain, light background with no door frame or shadow behind the head.
- Face square to the camera, both eyes visible, no cap or tinted glasses.
- Recent image, because the same photo appears on the admit card and at the exam centre.
- JPEG output, not a PNG renamed to .jpg.
Signature checklist
Use a pen with consistent flow. A signature that is too thin disappears at small print sizes; one that is too thick fills the 3.5 by 1.5 cm frame. Sign the way you will sign the attendance sheet, not in a decorative style you cannot repeat.
Working through the page
- Select the HTET photograph row in the variant list.
- Upload, crop to the locked ratio and switch on the face guide if the head is off centre.
- Correct exposure with brightness and contrast before touching quality.
- Watch the KB estimate. Aim near the middle of the range, not at the exact ceiling.
- Download the JPEG and repeat for the signature row.
Limits
One image per pass, JPEG only, no background replacement. The page does not know your HTET level and does not send the file to BSEH.
