Limitations

The back of the photo needs the studio name, address, date and your details. This tool only prepares the front image.

How to Use It

  1. Pick the Canada PR card photo preset.
  2. Upload a clear photo with a plain background.
  3. Frame the head and shoulders inside the crop box.
  4. Process the image and check the final size.
  5. Download the JPEG or PNG and upload it.

Photo Notes

The photo must be taken by a commercial photographer or scanned from a professional print. Do not use a phone picture of a paper photo.

Why It Helps

Use one tool for the photo instead of guessing the size in a phone editor. The result is checked against the preset before you download it.

Good to Know

PR card photos are normally taken by a commercial studio. The portal also asks for a second file showing the back of the photo with the studio details, name, address and the date the photo was taken.

Before You Upload

  • Open the official Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada page and compare the current rule with the preset.
  • Confirm the file is JPEG and inside the Up to 4 MB range.
  • Check the face is centred, the background is plain and no hair covers the eyes.
  • Keep a copy of the finished file in case the portal asks for it again.
