BTET covers the elementary stage

The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test is the elementary-level test run by the Bihar School Examination Board. It covers classes I to V and VI to VIII, and it is separate from Bihar STET, which is for secondary and senior secondary classes. Both are BSEB exams, but they do not share an upload preset.

BSEB's BTET notice on biharboardonline.com is the authority. If the current notice gives a different figure, the notice wins.

Do not mix up BTET and Bihar STET

The STET photograph floor is 15 KB, while the BTET floor is 10 KB. A file that passes BTET can fail STET. Keep separate folders, and name each file with the exam so you do not attach the wrong one during a rushed form session.

What the portal checks

Three things cause most rejections: the wrong format, a file outside the weight range, and a crop that cuts off part of the face or the signature. The portal does not judge whether the photo looks like you, but the exam centre will. Use a recent image, not a college-era portrait.

Preparing both images

• Photograph: colour, plain light background, face centred, no cap, no heavy filter.
• Signature: black or blue ink, unlined white paper, cropped close to the ink.
• Both: JPEG, not a PNG renamed to .jpg.

Using the page

1. Pick the photo or signature type and select the BTET row from the variant list.
2. Upload one original and let the crop box lock to the preset ratio.
3. Frame the head, or the signature, with a small margin.
4. Adjust quality until the estimate sits inside the range.
5. Download and check the file opens before attaching it.

Limits

One file at a time, JPEG output, no background editing. The page cannot confirm the current BTET figures and does not send anything to BSEB.
