What OJEE covers

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Committee conducts the state level entrance examinations that allocate places to professional and technical courses in the state, which is a different role from the Odisha Public Service Commission and covers technical, medical, nursing and other professional admissions rather than government recruitment.

The specification is the standard physical frame published at two resolutions: a 3.5 by 4.5 centimetre photograph and a 3.5 by 1.5 centimetre signature, each available at 96 and at 200 DPI, with a 500 KB ceiling and a 50 KB floor throughout. Nothing here is restrictive, so the choice between the two rows is simply which resolution your allotted course's application asks for.

The board publishes its notices at ojeeb.nic.in. The numbers on this page come from the recorded specification, and the notice on that site is the authority whenever the two differ.

This page sets out the numbers OJEE actually asks for. It is not a general guide to cropping or to the tool interface, because those instructions do not change from one exam to the next and they are written up separately.

What the OJEE form asks you to upload

Two files go into this form. They are:

  • A photograph at 3.5 x 4.5 cm, no heavier than 500 KB and no lighter than 50 KB.
  • A signature at 3.5 x 1.5 cm, no heavier than 500 KB and no lighter than 50 KB.

The OJEE numbers, and why they matter

OJEE is specified in centimetres rather than pixels, so the sizes in the table are physical measurements and the notification pairs them with 200 DPI resolution. The tool converts through that DPI value instead of scaling the image to an arbitrary pixel count, which is why the output is correct at print size and not just at screen size.

The OJEE table lists DPI values of 200 and 96 against what is otherwise the same frame. Both entries describe identical dimensions, so the decision is resolution quality rather than size. Take the higher value unless the notification names the lower one.

Worth knowing that OJEE works in both directions. The photograph must be no larger than 500 KB and no smaller than 50 KB, and the signature no larger than 500 KB with 50 KB as its floor. Overshooting the ceiling is the usual mistake; undershooting the floor is the one that surprises people who compress hard.

If the OJEE application refuses your file

  • When OJEE refuses a file, weight is the first thing to check, because 500 KB leaves limited room. Look at the final size on the result card. If it sits above the limit, the source was cropped too loosely: tighten the frame and compress again.
  • The signature is judged on its own 3.5 x 1.5 cm box and is not rescued by a correct photograph. If it is rejected, the usual cause is loose cropping: a signature scanned with a wide white margin carries more weight than the 500 KB allowance and fails even though the writing itself looks right.
  • Two identical rejections usually mean the specification moved rather than the file. Compare the table above against the current notification before you generate a third attempt.

Frequently Asked Questions

A dedicated guide covers the crop frame, the face mask, and the compression range, none of which change with the exam you are applying to. Read the shared photo and signature guide.

Pertanyaan yang Sering Diajukan

Jawaban singkat atas pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang diajukan pengguna sebelum mempercayai hasilnya.

3.5 x 4.5 cm at 200 DPI, in JPEG, with the file kept at or under 500 KB and not under 50 KB. That row in the table is the preset the tool applies when OJEE is selected.

3.5 x 1.5 cm at 200 DPI, in JPEG, capped at 500 KB with 50 KB as the floor. Crop close to the ink so the empty paper around it does not push the file past the ceiling.

500 KB, with 50 KB as the lower bound. The tool compresses on export until the result sits under that ceiling, and the result card shows the final weight next to the limit so you can see the margin.

JPEG, straight from the download. If the file gets re-saved on the way to upload, the portal can read a different byte weight and occasionally a different resolution from the one OJEE expects.

The stored rows are 3.5 x 4.5 cm for the photo and 3.5 x 1.5 cm for the signature, JPEG at 50-500 KB, with 96 and 200 DPI variants.

Use the 200 DPI row if your OJEE instruction asks for it; otherwise the 96 DPI row uses the same frame and weight range.
