How to Use This Tool
Select your current provider and model, enter your typical input and output token usage per request plus monthly request volume, then click Get Recommendations. The advisor compares every priced model in the live models.dev catalog against your usage profile.
Recommendation Settings
- Strict compatibility (recommended) - Only suggests models with the same reasoning capability, matching tool-call support when your current model has it, and a context window at least as large as the one you rely on today.
- Current model is deprecated - When your model has been discontinued, enables recommendations that may cost the same or slightly more, so you always have a supported path forward.
Understanding the Results
- Save badge - Green badge showing the percentage you would save per month compared to your current model.
- Recommended move - Amber badge shown when your model is deprecated and the suggested replacement is not cheaper.
- Monthly cost comparison - Bar chart comparing your current spend against each suggestion at the same usage volume.
- Use this - Swaps the suggestion in as your current model and re-runs the analysis, so you can chain multiple upgrades in one session.
Prices are in USD per 1 million tokens and are synced automatically from models.dev. Deprecated models are never suggested.
