PNG to PDF Converter

Turn PNG screenshots, charts and graphics into one PDF with one image per page. PNG is embedded losslessly, so text and lines stay sharp and transparency shows as white. Use landscape pages for wide screenshots, drag cards to set the order, then download. Each PNG can be up to 12 MB and is processed on our server.

Why Convert PNG Files to PDF

PNG is the format of screenshots, exported charts, logos, scanned forms saved from desktop software, and anything with sharp text or flat colour. It keeps every pixel exactly, which is great for clarity, but a folder of twenty PNG screenshots is awkward to send to a client, attach to a support ticket or print in order. The PNG to PDF converter collects those files into one PDF document, one PNG per page, in the order you arrange them.

Typical jobs this handles well:

  • A step-by-step bug report built from a sequence of screenshots.
  • Bank or payment confirmations captured as screenshots that a form requires as a single PDF.
  • Slides or diagrams exported as PNG from a design tool, gathered into a handout.
  • A signed form saved as PNG that an online portal only accepts as PDF.

Lossless In, Lossless Out

PNG uses lossless compression, and the PDF library behind this page, tc-lib-pdf, can store PNG image data natively. Your screenshot text stays crisp and colours are not shifted. The flip side is size: PNG files of photographs are large, and the PDF will be roughly as heavy as the PNG files you put in. The Quality box on each card does not compress PNG data, because PNG is embedded without JPEG re-encoding. If file size matters, save photo-like PNG images as JPEG before converting and keep PNG for screenshots and graphics.

What about transparency?

PNG can carry an alpha channel. The library keeps that transparency information when it embeds the image, so transparent areas show whatever is behind them on the page, which in this converter is the plain white page. A logo with a transparent background therefore appears on white. If you want a coloured background, flatten the image onto that colour in an editor first.

Converting Your PNG Screenshots

  1. Drag the PNG files onto the box labelled Drop images here, or press Select Images. Screenshots from Windows often share names like Screenshot (1).png; that is fine as long as no two are identical.
  2. Each file gets a card with a thumbnail, its file name and a grip handle. The Images badge counts them.
  3. Drag cards into the order the reader should see them. For a bug report, first action at the top.
  4. Wide desktop screenshots fit far better on a landscape page. Set Default Orientation to Landscape and press Apply defaults to all images, then switch any phone screenshots back to Portrait on their own cards.
  5. Pick a paper size under Default Format if A4 is not right for you; Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A3 and A5 are also offered.
  6. Press Convert Images to PDF.
  7. When the status confirms the PDF was created, press Download PDF.

Fitting Screenshots on Paper

A 1920 × 1080 screenshot has a 16:9 shape. On a portrait A4 page it will span the full 210 mm width and use only about 118 mm of the height, leaving large white bands. On a landscape A4 page (297 × 210 mm) it spans about 297 mm wide and 167 mm tall, which is much easier to read. The server always fits the full image inside the page, keeps its proportions and centres it, as long as the W and H boxes under Advanced options stay at 0.

A tall phone screenshot behaves the opposite way: on portrait A4 it fills the height and leaves bands at the sides. That is expected and nothing is cropped.

To place a PNG at a fixed size, open Advanced options and type a width in millimetres in W. The height is calculated from the image's aspect ratio. X and Y / Top move the image's top-left corner away from the page's top-left corner. Filling both W and H forces that exact box and can distort the image, so use one of them for screenshots.

Fields You Can Ignore

The card and advanced panel carry more controls than the converter currently uses. The server reads the format, orientation, quality and the X, Y, W and H numbers, and nothing else. Fit on page, DPI, Type, Align, Page Align, Resize, Border, Fit Box, Link, Img Mask, Hidden, Is mask and Alt image are passed along but not applied. In practice that means you cannot add a border, a clickable link or a mask with this page today.

Limits Written Into the Code

  • Each PNG may be up to 12 MB. Very large full-resolution exports can exceed this; scale them down if the server rejects one.
  • The server accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP and BMP. APNG files are still PNG files, but only a still image is placed.
  • One page per file. Long scrolling screenshots are not split across several pages; they are shrunk to fit one page, which can make text tiny.
  • Files with identical names are skipped by the page.
  • The output gets a random file name.

Do and Don't

Do crop screenshots to the area that matters; a cropped window reads far better than a full monitor capture shrunk to A4. Do use landscape pages for desktop captures. Do check the PDF before sending it, especially any small text.

Don't use a full-page scrolling capture for a long web page; it becomes one tiny strip. Consider the HTML to PDF converter for web pages instead. Don't include screenshots showing passwords, card numbers or one-time codes; files are processed on a server. Don't expect to search the PDF for text from a screenshot; it is an image.

Troubleshooting

If the status reports a failure, check the file size first, then confirm the file really is a PNG and not, for example, a WEBP renamed to .png by a browser download. If a file never appears as a card, it likely shares a name with one already listed. If everything looks tiny, the image is very tall or very wide compared with the page; change orientation or crop it.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

ಚಿಕ್ಕ answers ಗಾಗಿ the questions users ಕೇಳಿ ಮೊದಲು trusting the ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ.

Yes. PNG data is embedded without lossy re-compression, so text and lines stay as crisp as in the original file.

Transparency is kept, and since the page behind it is white, transparent areas appear white in the PDF.

PNG is lossless, so the PDF is about as big as the PNG files. The Quality box does not compress PNG. Save photographic images as JPEG before converting if size matters.

Landscape. A 16:9 screenshot fills far more of a landscape page than a portrait one.

Yes, 12 MB per image. Larger files are rejected by the server.

No. Each image becomes exactly one page and is scaled down to fit it.

No. Temporary copies are deleted once the PDF is built, and the PDF is removed by the hourly cleanup after about an hour.
