How to Use This Tool

Prompts copied from documents, websites, or chat histories are often full of formatting that LLMs read as noise. This tool strips it down to clean plain text.

1. Paste your prompt

Paste or type the raw prompt into the editor. Use Sample to load an example that exercises every option, or Paste to read your clipboard.

2. Pick what to remove

Toggle any of the five options:

  • Remove markdown — converts Markdown to plain text (headings, bold, italics, links, lists, inline code). Runs server-side with a full CommonMark engine.
  • Remove code blocks — deletes fenced ``` code blocks entirely.
  • Remove HTML — strips HTML tags but keeps the text between them.
  • Remove emojis — strips emoji characters and skin-tone modifiers.
  • Remove URLs — removes http(s):// and www. links.

3. Clean and copy

Click Clean prompt. The output updates with a character, word, and token estimate, then click Copy clean prompt.

It turns a messy, formatting-heavy prompt into clean plain text so an AI model does not waste tokens or attention on Markdown syntax, code fences, or HTML tags.

Only when you enable Remove markdown. The Markdown-to-text conversion runs through the tool\'s existing Markdown endpoint over HTTPS; the other cleanup options run entirely in your browser.

Your text is converted with a full CommonMark parser, then HTML tags are stripped and HTML entities are decoded, producing readable plain text.

Yes. When enabled, the whole fenced block (including its content) is removed. Disable the option if you want to keep code as text.

The Markdown conversion accepts up to 200,000 characters. For huge inputs, clean up in sections.
