Poshmark Fee Calculator

This calculator estimates Poshmark's selling fee and your net payout. You can enter a sale price to see what you keep, or enter the payout you want and work backward to the listing price that should produce it.

The stored rule is simple: sales below 15 use a flat 2.95 fee, and sales at or above 15 use a 20 percent commission. The calculator shows which rule applied and breaks the result into listing price, fee and net payout.

The figures are estimates. Shipping, sales tax, bundles, Posh Credits and any program changes can alter the real number. Use the result for pricing decisions, then check the final order summary in Poshmark.

The two fee tiers

For a sale below 15, the stored model subtracts a flat 2.95. A 12 sale therefore leaves 9.05 before any other costs. The flat fee is proportionally large on low-priced items, which is why the effective rate can be much higher than 20 percent.

For a sale at or above 15, the stored model subtracts 20 percent. A 25 sale has a 5 fee and a 20 net payout. A 100 sale has a 20 fee and an 80 payout. The commission scales with the price, while the flat fee does not.

The boundary is sharp. At 14.99 the flat rule applies; at 15.00 the percentage rule applies. The calculator displays a rule badge so you can see which side of the boundary your price falls on.

Forward mode: sale price to payout

Choose I know the sale price, enter the amount, and read the fee and net payout. The headline shows the estimated payout. The breakdown repeats the listing price, the fee and the net so you can copy the numbers into a pricing note.

The calculation floors the net at zero. A very small sale can produce a fee larger than the price in a naive subtraction, so the page prevents a negative payout in the display. That does not mean the marketplace will never charge more than the item price; it means the calculator will not show a negative net.

The result excludes shipping, tax and buyer-side charges. If the buyer pays shipping, do not add it to the sale price unless you are deliberately modelling the full order total. The stored Poshmark rule applies to the sale amount in this calculator.

Reverse mode: target payout to price

Choose I want a target payout and enter the amount you want to keep. For a target below the flat-fee boundary, the calculator adds 2.95. For a higher target, it divides by 0.8 to find the sale price that leaves the target after a 20 percent fee.

The reverse formula has a small discontinuity at the boundary. A target of 12.04 uses the flat rule and produces a 14.99 sale. A target of 12.05 jumps to the percentage tier and produces a sale of about 15.06. The displayed net is exactly the target you entered.

If the computed price is below 15 in the percentage branch, the calculator floors it at 15 so the result stays consistent with the tier. That can make a very small target produce a slightly higher sale price than a simple division would suggest.

A quick reference table

Sale priceStored feeEstimated payout
10.002.95 flat7.05
14.992.95 flat12.04
15.003.00 (20%)12.00
25.005.00 (20%)20.00
100.0020.00 (20%)80.00

The table is illustrative, not a quote. It shows why a price just above 15 can leave less than a price just below it: the flat fee is 2.95 at 14.99, while the commission at 15.00 is 3.00. The difference is small at the boundary but grows with price.

Use the table to sanity-check the calculator, then enter your own amount for the exact result. The page accepts cents and updates instantly.

How to use the calculator

Pick the mode that matches your question. If you are deciding what to list an item for, start with the sale price mode. If you need a specific amount to cover costs or reach a savings goal, use the target payout mode.

Enter the amount and read the headline. Scroll to the breakdown to see the listing price, fee, net payout and the rule that was applied. Change the amount to compare a few price points.

Remember that the result is before shipping, tax and any other marketplace adjustments. If you are comparing platforms, run the same sale amount through each calculator and compare the net figures, not only the headline fee rate.

Limitations and what is excluded

The calculator does not model shipping labels, sales tax, buyer fees, bundle discounts, Posh Credits, refunds, chargebacks or promoted listings. It also does not know your seller level or any account-specific promotion.

The stored 2.95 flat fee and 20 percent commission are estimates. Poshmark can change its fee structure, and the applicable rule may depend on the program or region. Check the current seller policy before relying on the result.

The page does not connect to Poshmark or save your entries. It is a browser-side estimating tool, not an accounting record. Keep your order summaries and payout statements for the real numbers.

Pricing with shipping, offers and bundles

The calculator models the item sale price, not the full order. If you offer free shipping, the shipping cost comes out of your payout and is not represented here. If the buyer pays shipping, the shipping amount may pass through the marketplace separately rather than increasing the commissionable sale price.

Offers and bundles can change the final sale amount. A bundle that combines several items may be treated differently from a single listing, and a discounted offer can push the price below the 15 boundary. Recalculate with the actual accepted price rather than the original list price.

Posh Credits, promotions and refunds are also outside the model. A credit can reduce what the buyer pays without changing the fee shown here. Use the order summary for the authoritative amounts, and treat this calculator as a pre-listing pricing guide.

A note on effective fee rate

The effective rate is the fee divided by the sale price. On a 10 sale, the 2.95 flat fee is 29.5 percent, far above the headline 20 percent. On a 100 sale, the 20 percent commission is exactly 20 percent. This is why low-priced items need a different pricing strategy from high-priced ones.

If you want to preserve a target margin, calculate the price before listing rather than discounting after a sale. The reverse mode is built for that question, but it still uses the stored fee rule and excludes shipping, tax and promotions.

Prices that pay no more than 14.99

Because the fee switches from a flat amount to a percentage at 15, there is a narrow band where a higher price does not increase the payout. Under the stored model, 14.99 leaves 12.04. In the percentage tier, a sale has to be above 15.05 to beat that, because 20 percent of 15.05 is 3.01 and the payout is exactly 12.04.

Sale priceStored feeEstimated payout
14.992.95 flat12.04
15.023.00 (20%)12.02
15.053.01 (20%)12.04
15.503.10 (20%)12.40

In practice, list at 14.99 or below, or comfortably above 15.05. A price such as 15.00 or 15.02 earns less than 14.99, and buyers see a higher price for no gain to you.

Working backward from your costs

Reverse mode is easiest to use when you add up what the sale has to cover first. Suppose an item cost 8.00 to source, packaging costs 1.00 and you want 5.00 profit. Enter 14.00 as the target payout. The flat tier would need 16.95, which is above the boundary, so the calculator switches to the percentage tier and returns 17.50, with a 3.50 fee.

A smaller target stays in the flat tier. A 9.00 target returns 11.95, because the flat fee is simply added. A 20.00 target returns 25.00. If you expect to accept offers, run the lowest offer you would take through forward mode as well, so you know your floor before a buyer asks.

The page always shows amounts with a dollar sign. It has no currency selector, so the stored rule is applied as a dollar fee.

Yes. Choose the target payout mode and enter the amount you want to keep. The calculator estimates the sale price needed under the stored fee rule.

No. It models the sale price and the Poshmark fee only. Shipping, tax, bundles and credits are outside the calculation.

No. They are stored estimates. Check Poshmark's current seller policy for the rates that apply to your account and region.

The calculator floors the displayed net at zero when the fee would exceed a very small sale amount. It does not create a negative payout.

No. The calculation runs in the browser and is not stored by the page.

Under the stored model, a sale from 15.00 to 15.05 pays no more than a 14.99 sale, which leaves 12.04. List at 14.99 or below, or above 15.05.

Add your item cost, packaging and desired profit, then enter the total as the target payout. A 14.00 target returns a 17.50 sale price; a 9.00 target returns 11.95.
