DigiLocker Document Photo Resizer
Prepare a 3.5 x 4.5 cm passport-style photo for your DigiLocker uploaded documents. The tool crops and saves a JPEG at 200 DPI or more; the stored preset uses a 10 MB size value, which should be read as a ceiling, not a target. DigiLocker's own upload screen has the final word.

DigiLocker and personal uploads
DigiLocker is the Government of India's digital document wallet under the Digital India programme. Issued documents such as driving licences and marksheets arrive in your account directly from the issuing body, while the uploaded documents section lets you add your own scans. People often keep a passport-style photograph there so it is ready for forms that ask for one.
The official DigiLocker site and app are where the upload happens. This page only prepares the photo file before you add it.
What you prepare here
- Document photograph: a 3.5 x 4.5 cm passport-style picture saved as JPEG.
The preset stores 10 MB as both its minimum and its maximum file size. We could not confirm a per-file limit on DigiLocker's own pages; third-party guides describe a 10 MB upload ceiling. Treat 10 MB as an upper bound only, not a size your photo has to reach, and rely on what the DigiLocker upload screen tells you.
DigiLocker stored preset
| Item | Frame | Format | File size stored | Min DPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Document photograph | 3.5 x 4.5 cm | JPEG | 10 MB (stored as min and max) | 200 |
Preparing the photo
- Open the tool; DigiLocker and the photo type are set for you.
- Choose a picture with Browse file. JPG, PNG and WebP inputs work.
- Line the face up with Show face mask guide and confirm with Apply crop.
- Captions are not part of this preset, so select Skip caption.
- Download the JPEG with Download processed image and add it in DigiLocker's uploaded documents.
Things to know
Unlike exam forms, there is no tight weight window to fight: the stored ceiling is measured in megabytes, so you can keep the photo sharp. The 3.5 x 4.5 cm frame at 200 DPI is the familiar passport ratio, which makes the saved file reusable for other forms that ask for that shape. A photo you upload yourself is your own copy, not an issued document, so it does not carry the issuer's verification.
