TRB's teacher eligibility test

TNTET is conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tamil Nadu. Paper I is for classes I to V and Paper II for classes VI to VIII. The board also runs separate recruitment examinations, so check that you are on the TNTET notification and not a TRB recruitment advertisement.

Stored values

These are the TNTET rows in this site's TET record. They are presets; the current TRB notification is the authority and may differ.

DocumentFrameRangeType
Photograph3.5 x 4.5 cm20 to 60 KBJPEG
Signature3.5 x 1.5 cm10 to 30 KBJPEG

Confirm them against the notification linked from trb.tn.nic.in. The stored rows are not a claim that TRB has kept the same numbers for your cycle.

Why the photo floor is 20 KB

A 3.5 by 4.5 cm portrait saved at low quality can easily fall under 20 KB. If the TRB portal rejects the file as too small, increase JPEG quality rather than enlarging the canvas. Padding the image with white space raises the byte count without adding detail the portal can use.

Signature notes

A Tamil signature can be long and thin, which makes the 10 KB floor harder to clear after cropping. Sign at a comfortable size on plain paper, scan at 200 to 300 DPI, and crop to the frame. Avoid a photo taken with a phone at an angle; the shadow along one edge survives compression.

The application flow

  1. Read the current TNTET notification and note the upload boxes.
  2. Prepare the photo and signature here, one at a time.
  3. Download both JPEGs into a folder named for the exam.
  4. Fill the TRB form and upload the files where the labels ask for them.
  5. Open the completed application preview and check both images before paying.

Common mistakes

  • Using a TRB recruitment photo preset for TNTET, or the reverse.
  • Uploading a PNG renamed to .jpg, which many validators still read as PNG.
  • Sending a group photo cropped down, leaving the face too small.
  • Compressing the signature until the strokes break into grey dots.

Limits

The page processes one image at a time, outputs JPEG, and cannot check your eligibility or submit the form. It also cannot detect a change in the TRB notice after the preset record was edited.
