Image to PDF Converter

Image to PDF Converter turns a set of images into a PDF document with one image per page. Upload the files, arrange their order, and choose the page size, orientation, quality and DPI before generating the PDF.

The browser handles previews and ordering; the server builds the PDF. That makes the tool suitable for scanned pages, receipts, photos of documents and simple portfolios without installing a desktop converter.

Each image is placed on its own page. The output is a fixed-layout PDF, so the recipient sees the pages as you arranged them rather than a reflowable document.

What the converter accepts

The uploader is designed for common image formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP and BMP. The server accepts those formats and caps each image at 12 MB. The interface may show additional extensions, but SVG, TIFF and AVIF files can pass the picker and then fail the server check, so convert them to a supported format first.

There is no fixed limit on the number of images in the code, but a large batch takes longer to upload and render. For a long scan, split the work into several PDFs or compress the images before uploading.

Duplicate filenames are skipped in the browser to avoid confusion. If two images have the same name, rename one before adding it.

How to build the PDF

  1. Drag images onto the dropzone or click to choose files.
  2. Wait for the previews to appear.
  3. Drag the image cards into the order you want.
  4. Set the global defaults if every page should use the same quality, DPI, orientation and paper size.
  5. Open an individual card if one image needs different settings.
  6. Click the convert button and wait for the server.
  7. Download the PDF from the result link.

“Apply defaults to all images” is useful for a uniform scan. Per-image settings are useful when a portrait photo and a landscape receipt need different orientations.

Page size, orientation and fit

The paper options include A4, A3, A5, Letter, Legal and Tabloid. Orientation can be portrait or landscape. “Fit on page” is intended to scale the image so it stays inside the printable area without cropping.

The default quality is 75 and the default DPI is 300. A higher quality preserves more detail but increases the file size. A lower quality is easier to email but may make small text fuzzy. DPI is written into the PDF's image metadata and affects the physical size interpretation, not the pixel dimensions of the source.

If an image is much wider than the page, use landscape or a larger paper size. If it is taller than the page, fit-on-page should prevent clipping, but always inspect the downloaded PDF because the server's renderer may not apply every advanced layout option exactly as the preview suggests.

Advanced controls

Each image card has an advanced panel with position, size, alignment, border, link and mask fields. These controls are intended for fine placement, but the server's image placement function applies only a subset of them. Quality, position, size, DPI, orientation and format are the reliable settings; treat border, link, fitbox and mask as experimental and check the output.

For most documents, the global defaults and the per-image orientation are enough. A scanned page should fill the page with a small margin, while a photo may look better centred with a border. Do not rely on the advanced controls for a legal or print-critical layout without a proof.

If you need precise placement, use a desktop layout tool or generate the PDF from a document editor. This converter is optimized for a simple one-image-per-page result.

Output and file size

The server creates a PDF with a random filename and returns a download link. The file is stored in a temporary area rather than a permanent library. Download it promptly and keep your own copy.

File size depends on the number of pages, image dimensions and quality. A batch of phone photos can produce a large PDF even at moderate quality. If the result is too large to email, reduce the image dimensions before uploading, lower the quality, or split the batch into several documents.

Use a descriptive filename after downloading. The random server name is fine for a temporary link but not for a client deliverable or an archive.

Privacy and limitations

The images are uploaded to the server for PDF assembly. Do not upload identity documents, medical records or confidential client files unless you are comfortable with that processing. The page does not create an account, but the files still leave your device.

The converter does not OCR the images, add text, create bookmarks, password-protect the PDF or compress an existing PDF. It places images on pages. If you need searchable text, run OCR after conversion or use a dedicated OCR tool.

An image that fails to upload may be in an unsupported format, larger than 12 MB, or affected by a filename collision. Convert it to JPG or PNG, rename it, and try again. If the PDF is blank, check that the image preview loaded before converting.

Preparing scans and photos

For a scanned document, crop away the desk or background before uploading. A page that fills the frame needs less scaling and produces a cleaner PDF. Keep the text horizontal; a tilted scan wastes space and makes the page harder to read. If the scanner offers a black-and-white or grayscale mode, use it for text-only pages to reduce file size.

For a photo of a receipt or form, use even lighting and avoid shadows across the text. Shoot straight on rather than at an angle, and check that the edges of the document are inside the frame. The converter places the image on the page; it does not perspective-correct or crop automatically.

Put the pages in reading order before converting. The image cards are the page order, so a misplaced card becomes a misplaced page. For a double-sided document, decide whether you want the back sides interleaved or grouped, and arrange accordingly.

Quality, DPI and file size

Quality 75 is a sensible default for screen reading and email. Raise it for small text, fine signatures or images that will be printed. Lower it for a large photo set where file size matters more than detail. Always inspect the result at 100 percent zoom; a quality setting that looks fine in a thumbnail can still blur a barcode or a date.

DPI is metadata that helps a printer interpret the image's physical size. It does not add detail that is missing from the source. If a scan is 150 DPI, setting the PDF to 300 DPI will not make it sharper. Start with a good scan and use the DPI field to match the intended output.

If the PDF is too large, reduce the pixel dimensions of the images before uploading rather than only lowering the quality. A 4000-pixel photo on an A4 page carries more data than the page can show. Resize to roughly the print size at the target resolution, then convert.
