JPEG to PDF Converter
Convert JPEG and JPG photos into a single PDF, one photo per page. JPEG data is embedded without being compressed again, so photos keep their original quality. Choose paper size and orientation per photo, reorder pages by dragging, and download the PDF. Files are processed on our server, up to 12 MB per photo, with no sign-up.

JPEG Photos In, Print-Ready PDF Out
JPEG is the format your phone camera, your scanner app and most messaging apps produce by default, which is why "JPEG to PDF" is one of the most common file chores there is. This page takes one or more .jpeg or .jpg files and wraps them into a PDF, placing each photo on its own page at the paper size you pick. It is meant for things like a scanned ID card front and back, a set of handwritten notes photographed page by page, a stack of receipts for an expense claim, or holiday photos you want to email as a single attachment.
A useful property of JPEG specifically: the PDF library used here, tc-lib-pdf, can embed JPEG data directly. Your photo goes into the PDF in its original compressed form rather than being decoded and squeezed again, so there is no second round of JPEG artefacts and the PDF ends up only slightly larger than the photos you started with.
Where the Conversion Runs
Thumbnails, the card list and drag-to-reorder all work locally in your browser. Building the PDF does not. Pressing Convert Images to PDF uploads your JPEG files, together with each card's settings, to the newisty.com server. There, Laravel validates the upload, the photos are copied into a temporary folder, the PDF is assembled, and the temporary photo copies are deleted in the same request. The resulting PDF stays in a temporary public folder under a random UUID-based name until the hourly cleanup removes files older than one hour. Nothing asks for an email address or account.
JPEG-Specific Things to Know Before You Start
Sideways phone photos
Many phones save every photo in the same sensor orientation and add a small EXIF tag telling viewers to rotate it. Your gallery, and this page's thumbnail, obey that tag. The PDF library does not read EXIF orientation, so a portrait photo that looks upright in the card preview can land on its side in the PDF. If that happens, open the photo in your gallery or any editor, rotate it and save a copy; the saved copy has its pixels physically rotated and will come out correctly.
Quality does not re-compress your photo
The page shows a Quality box (75 by default). Because JPEG files are embedded as they are, that number does not re-encode your photo, and lowering it will not shrink the PDF. If you need a smaller PDF, reduce the photo's pixel dimensions or export it at a lower JPEG quality in another app before uploading.
.jpg and .jpeg are the same thing
Both extensions are accepted. The advanced Type field lists JPG and JPEG separately, but the server identifies the image from its contents, and that field is not used when drawing the page.
Paper Sizes Available
Each photo card has a Format menu. These are the standard sizes behind each option, useful if you plan to position a photo by hand in millimetres:
| Format option | Portrait size (mm) | Typical use for photos |
|---|---|---|
| A4 | 210 × 297 | Default; forms, ID copies, notes |
| A3 | 297 × 420 | Posters, large prints |
| A5 | 148 × 210 | Small booklets, single receipts |
| Letter | 215.9 × 279.4 | United States and Canada paperwork |
| Legal | 215.9 × 355.6 | Long US documents |
| Tabloid | 279.4 × 431.8 | Large layouts, spreads |
Switch a card to Landscape and the width and height swap.
How to Convert JPEG Files
- Click Select Images or drag your JPEG files onto Drop images here. Several files can be chosen at once.
- Look at the Images counter. Each accepted photo becomes a card with a thumbnail. A photo whose file name matches one already listed is skipped and reported in the status line.
- Reorder pages by dragging a card's grip handle. Delete a wrong photo with Remove.
- In Image to PDF Settings, set Default Format and Default Orientation, then press Apply defaults to all images.
- For a landscape shot inside a portrait set, change just that card's Orientation.
- Press Convert Images to PDF and wait for "PDF created. Click download to save it."
- Press Download PDF. The file has a random name; rename it on your device.
Placement: Automatic or Measured
Leave W and H at 0 under Advanced options and the server fits the whole photo inside the page, keeps its proportions and centres it. A 4:3 phone photo on portrait A4 fills the width and leaves equal bands above and below. A small JPEG, such as one forwarded by a messaging app at reduced resolution, gets enlarged to the same width, so check that it is sharp enough to read.
For a passport-style copy where the photo must sit at a known spot, open Advanced options and enter millimetres: W for the width you want (height follows the photo's ratio), and X and Y / Top for the distance of the photo's top-left corner from the page's top-left corner. Example: a scanned card printed at W = 86 near the top of A4 with X = 62 and Y / Top = 30 sits centred horizontally, roughly at real card width.
Fields such as Border, Page Align, Fit Box, Resize, Link, Img Mask, Hidden, Is mask and Alt image are present in the advanced panel but the current server code ignores them, as it does the Fit on page checkbox and the DPI number. Only format, orientation, quality and X, Y, W, H reach the drawing step.
Practical Tips for Photo Documents
- Photograph documents in daylight on a dark surface; contrast makes edges and text clearer in the PDF.
- Crop before uploading. The converter shows the entire frame, including the table around your paper.
- Keep each JPEG at 12 MB or less. Most phone photos are far below that, but some high-resolution cameras exceed it.
- Name files in order, such as
01-front.jpgand02-back.jpg, so they arrive sorted and never collide. - Download the PDF soon after it is created; the temporary copy disappears after about an hour.
Avoid These Mistakes
- Uploading HEIC photos from an iPhone. They are not JPEG, and the server only accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP and BMP.
- Expecting selectable text. A photographed page becomes a picture inside the PDF; words cannot be searched or copied.
- Relying on Quality to hit a portal's size cap. Resize the photos instead.
- Assuming the preview orientation is the final orientation. Check the downloaded PDF before submitting it anywhere.
Limitations
One photo per page, always; no collage layouts. No built-in rotate, crop, margin or compression controls. No password or encryption on the output. Photos are processed on a server rather than offline. Each file is capped at 12 MB. If you need the reverse direction, the PDF to JPEG converter turns PDF pages back into images. For a batch that mixes JPEG with other formats, the Image to PDF converter without email page covers mixed uploads.
