How to Use This Tool

Export a workflow from n8n (Editor UI → Workflow menu → Export → Export workflow to JSON), then paste it into the input box or upload the .json file. Switch between the tabs to run each analysis — everything happens on your data without storing anything.

1. Upload or paste your workflow

Paste the exported JSON into the editor or click Upload .json to load a file directly. Use Sample to try a realistic example workflow with a webhook, an IF branch, a database node and an HTTP request.

2. Analyze and validate

Click Analyze Workflow to get node counts, trigger and HTTP request counts, AI and database usage, loop and branch counts, the longest execution path, a complexity score, and a plain-language summary. The validation report flags broken connections, duplicate IDs, missing credentials, empty nodes, unbalanced expressions and deprecated node types.

3. Visualize, clean and scan

The Visualize tab renders an interactive flow graph you can zoom, pan and inspect. Cleaner strips credentials, pin data, execution notes, disabled nodes, empty properties and metadata before you share an export. Credential Scanner detects API keys, bearer tokens, passwords, AWS/OpenAI/Anthropic/Google keys and webhook URLs.

4. Compare, document and search

Diff shows added, removed and changed nodes between two workflow versions. Docs generates a professional Markdown document covering triggers, execution flow, API calls, AI prompts and credentials. Search finds any text inside node names, parameters, expressions and URLs.

Limits

Each workflow export can be up to 1,000,000 characters, which comfortably covers very large workflows.

Features

  • Instant statistics: node, trigger, HTTP, AI, database, loop and branch counts

  • Validation report for broken connections, duplicates, missing credentials and more
  • Interactive SVG flow graph with zoom, pan and connection highlighting
  • Credential scanner with severity levels for every finding
  • Privacy cleaner with per-category removal options
  • Side-by-side workflow diff with change summaries
  • Automatic Markdown documentation generator

  • No storage: workflows are processed and discarded

Perguntas frequentes

Respostas curtas às perguntas que os utilizadores fazem antes de confiarem no resultado.

It is the JSON file n8n produces from the workflow menu (Export to JSON). It contains the node list, connections, parameters and settings of a workflow.

Yes, the JSON is processed server-side over HTTPS to run the analysis. It is not stored, logged or shared, and the cleaned export gives you full control over what you keep.

It inspects every node parameter with pattern matching for common key formats (OpenAI sk-, Anthropic sk-ant-, AWS AKIA, Google AIza, private keys, bearer tokens) plus generic api_key/secret/token/password assignments and webhook URLs.

Workflow exports can include credentials, pinned example data and notes that reveal internal URLs or personal information. Cleaning removes them so you can safely share screenshots, bug reports and templates.

Yes. Unknown node types are categorized as generic nodes and still counted and rendered. Validation uses only structural rules (IDs, names, connections, expressions), which apply to all node types.

Yes. Paste the original in the left Diff input and the modified version in the right one; the tool lists added, removed and changed nodes plus connection differences.
