BITSAT application photo and signature
BITSAT uses an online application, and the uploaded photo and signature are checked before the admit card is issued. This page applies the stored BITSAT shapes, converts both documents to JPEG and compresses them toward the stored byte windows.
The preset list is small, so choose photo or signature first, then upload a clean original. The tool does not register you for BITSAT or verify your eligibility.
Stored BITSAT presets
| Document | Shape | Byte window | Format | DPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 3.5×4.5 cm | 50–200 KB | JPEG | 96 |
| Signature | 3.5×1.5 cm | 10–50 KB | JPEG | 96 |
These are stored values. The BITSAT application instruction is the authority; confirm the current shape and byte window before uploading. The presets have not been changed.
Preparing the photo
Use a recent colour passport-style photo with a plain light background. Face the camera, keep your eyes open and avoid hats, filters and heavy shadows. Crop so the head and shoulders fit the 3.5×4.5 cm frame without cutting the forehead or chin.
Preparing the signature
Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, photograph it straight on and crop around the strokes. A faint signature can disappear when the JPEG is compressed toward 10 KB. Keep the background clean and avoid ruled paper.
After the download
Open both files and check the dimensions and byte size. Keep the originals until the application is accepted, because a rejected upload may need a fresh crop rather than a repeat of the same file.

Common BITSAT upload mistakes
A photo that is too dark, a signature with the last stroke cut off, or a PNG saved with a .jpg extension can fail even when the dimensions look right. Use the downloaded JPEG without renaming it to another format, and do not reuse a photo from a different application unless it still matches the current BITSAT background and recency rules.
