IIFT photo and signature uploads
IIFT admissions use an online application before the entrance test and later stages. The photo and signature must be clear enough for the admit card and small enough for the portal.
This page applies the stored IIFT shapes and byte windows. It does not submit the application or verify your eligibility.
Stored IIFT values
| Upload | Shape | Byte window | Format | DPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 3.5×4.5 cm | 10–100 KB | JPEG | 200 |
| Signature | 3.5×1.5 cm | 4–30 KB | JPEG | 200 |
These are stored values. The current IIFT admission instructions are the authority; confirm the shape and limits before uploading. The presets have not been changed.
Preparing the photo
Use a recent colour photo with a plain light background. Face the camera, keep your eyes open and avoid hats, filters and heavy shadows. Crop so the head and shoulders fit the frame without cutting the forehead or chin.
Preparing the signature
Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, photograph it straight on and crop around the strokes. The stored signature window starts at 4 KB, so a very faint signature may lose detail or fall below the minimum. Check the downloaded file before uploading.

Common IIFT upload mistakes
A signature below 4 KB, a photo above 100 KB or a file saved as PNG with a .jpg name can be rejected. Check the byte count and format after download, and keep both originals until the application is accepted.
Keep both files until the application is accepted
IIFT may use the photo on the admit card and at later stages. Store the processed photo and signature with the originals. If one upload is rejected, replace only that file and keep the other unchanged.
Signature clarity
A clean signature with dark ink is easier to compress than a faint one. Check that the first and last strokes are inside the frame before uploading.
