What is case converter
A Case Converter is a free online tool that allows you to change the case of text. Currently, our Case Converter supports 8 case formate. Formates are Sentence case, Capitalized Case, UPPER CASE, lower case, Title Case, InVeRsE CaSe , iNvErSe cAsE 2 , tOGGLE CASE.
This can be useful for a variety of purposes, such as formatting text for a specific purpose, making text easier to read, or ensuring that text adheres to specific style guidelines.
Case converter tools typically allow you to convert text to Sentence case ((where only the first letter of the first word is capitalized)), Capitalized Case, UPPER CASE, lower case, Title Case (where the first letter of each word is capitalized), InVeRsE CaSe , iNvErSe cAsE 2 , tOGGLE CASE (where uppercase letters become lowercase and vice versa).
Sentence case
Sentence case is a sentence style that we use in both the academic and professional worlds. In sentence case, we capitalize just the first letter of the first word in the sentence. other words and letters in the sentence should not be capitalized if they’re not proper nouns.
Title Case
Title Case is also called headline case. The title case is nearly the opposite of the Sentence case. In this case, the first letter of each word of the title should be capitalized. In the title case the first and last words of titles or subtitles, "major" words (nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and some conjunctions). is always capitalized. Lowercase the conjunctions (or, nor, but, and, for). the articles (a, an, the).
Capitalized Case
Capitalized Case is nearly the same as title case. But in the title case there are some rules for capitalization and lowercase. In Capitalized Case, we will capitalize all the first letters of each word.
UPPER CASE
In UPPER CASE, we will capitalize all the letters of a sentence.
lower case
In lower case, we will lowercase all the letters of a sentence.
InVeRsE CaSe
In InVeRsE CaSe we will capitalize all odd letters and lowercase all even letters.
iNvErSe cAsE 2
iNvErSe cAsE 2 is the full opposite of InVeRsE CaSe. In iNvErSe cAsE 2 we will capitalize all even letters and lowercase all odd letters.
tOGGLE CASE
In tOGGLE CASE we will change the case of the letter. If the letter is capitalized it will be lowercase and if the letter is lowercase, it will be capitalized.
How to use this Tool
Just paste your text by using the paste button or paste manually, and click the targeted case button. It will convert into your selected case. You can copy the converted case by clicking the Copy button or download it by clicking the Download button. Also count words, characters (with and without space), sentences, paragraphs easily.
Choosing the right case mode
Use sentence case for body copy, title case for headings, capitalized case for labels and names, and upper or lower case for cleaning imported data. Snake and kebab are aimed at code identifiers, file names and URL fragments.
Title case is English-centric. It uses a small list of minor words and preserves words that are already all caps, which helps with acronyms but can produce inconsistent headings. Review proper nouns and hyphenated words after converting.
Snake and kebab are not full slug generators. They do not lowercase, remove punctuation or transliterate accents. For a web address, clean the text first and remove punctuation before or after conversion. Inverse and toggle modes are for styling and testing, not for normal copy.
The statistics count words by whitespace, lines by newline and sentences by punctuation. They update as you type and again after conversion, so you can compare input and output length. Very long documents may make the counters slower, but the page does not truncate the text.
Common uses include cleaning all-caps data, formatting headings and preparing identifiers for code. The converter does not translate, spell-check or rewrite content; it only changes letter case and, in snake and kebab mode, whitespace. Keep a copy of the original when the conversion is part of a larger edit.
Worked examples: what each button returns
The short definitions above describe each style in general. The buttons follow their own exact rules, and the clearest way to see them is with real output. This sentence was pasted into the input box and converted with each button:
the HTML guide to café menus. don't skip it!
| Button | Output |
|---|---|
| Sentence case | The HTML guide to café menus. Don't skip it! |
| Capitalized Case | The HTML Guide To Café Menus. Don'T Skip It! |
| Title Case | The HTML Guide to Café Menus. Don't Skip it! |
| InVeRsE CaSe | ThE hTmL gUiDe To CaFé MeNuS. DoN'T sKiP iT! |
| tOGGLE CASE | THE html GUIDE TO CAFÉ MENUS. DON'T SKIP IT! |
| Kebab-CASE | the-HTML-guide-to-café-menus.-don't-skip-it! |
What the examples reveal
- Sentence and Capitalized Case only raise letters. They never lower a capital, so HTML stays HTML. Pasting WELCOME TO THE BLOG into either one returns it unchanged.
- Capitalized Case treats an apostrophe as a word break, which is why don't becomes Don'T. Title Case keeps the apostrophe inside the word.
- Title Case keeps all-caps words such as HTML and lowercases its list of small words, including it and is, unless the word comes first or nothing at all follows it. Even a closing exclamation mark counts as something following, which is why it stays lowercase in the example.
- Inverse modes alternate across the whole text, skipping spaces, so a word can start with either a capital or a small letter.
Getting clean results from all-caps text
Every button converts what is in the input box, not the previous output, and the output box is read-only. To fix shouting text, press lower case, copy the result, paste it back into the input box and then apply Sentence case or Title Case. Download saves the current output as a text file named after the style, such as casescribe-title.txt.
