Agniveer Vayu is not AFCAT
Agniveer Vayu is the airman entry into the Indian Air Force under the Agnipath scheme: a four-year engagement, with retention beyond that governed by the scheme. AFCAT is a different recruitment — the officer entry for Flying and Ground Duty branches, open to graduates. The two have separate advertisements, separate eligibility and, in principle, separate image rules.
The distinction matters here because this page's converter is locked to the site's AFCAT preset record. The labels in the dropdown read "AFCAT", and those values should not be presented as the Agniveer Vayu requirement.
What the page does
Upload a photograph, signature or thumb impression, crop it to the guide, and download a JPEG. The image is read locally, drawn to a canvas and re-encoded in the browser; nothing is uploaded to a server. The output is always JPEG at quality 0.93.

The table lists what the converter currently applies. These are stored values from the AFCAT record, not a fresh reading of the Agniveer Vayu notification, and they have not been re-verified for this update. The Agniveer Vayu advertisement is the authority.

Step by step
- Download the Agniveer Vayu advertisement and note its photo and signature figures.
- Compare them with the stored presets here. If they differ, the advertisement wins.
- Upload a recent colour photo with a plain background, or a signature scan in dark ink.
- Adjust the crop so the face or signature fills the frame cleanly.
- Check the estimated weight, download the JPEG, and attach it to the application.
Common rejection reasons
- Treating AFCAT figures as Agniveer rules. The two entries publish separate notices.
- A photo with a coloured or patterned background. Plain light backgrounds are the safe default.
- Signature in block letters. Use your normal running-hand signature.
- File weight outside the band. The stored presets include a floor, so heavy compression can fail too.
- Renaming instead of converting. A PNG with a .jpg name is still a PNG.
Limits
One file at a time, three document types, JPEG output, no background removal, no signature cleanup and no automatic face detection. The page cannot tell which Agniveer cycle you are applying for and does not submit anything to the Air Force portal.
