What Is the ACT Registration Photo Resizer?
ACT asks for a portrait photo that is at least 640 x 480 pixels and no larger than 5 MB. This preset uses a square 640 x 640 portrait frame, which satisfies both the minimum width and height while keeping the image upright.
Requirements Used by This Tool
- Frame: 640 x 640 px portrait (at least 640 x 480)
- File size: Up to 5 MB
- Format: JPEG, PNG or BMP
- Authority: ACT
Source: ACT photo requirements.
How to Use It
- Choose the ACT registration photo preset.
- Upload a recent colour photo with a plain background.
- Crop so the face is centred and the shoulders are visible.
- Run the resize and check the KB value.
- Download the file and upload it to the official form.
Why It Helps
Most rejected uploads fail because the file is too large, the frame is the wrong shape, or the format is not accepted. This tool removes those three problems in one pass.
Photo Notes
The photo must show only you, facing the camera, against a plain background. Do not use filters, stickers or text.
Limitations
ACT lists 640 x 480 as the minimum, but also requires portrait orientation. This tool uses 640 x 640 so the image is portrait and still meets both minimum numbers.
Good to Know
ACT asks for portrait orientation but lists 640 x 480 as the minimum. This preset uses 640 x 640 to satisfy both rules without turning the photo landscape.
Before You Upload
- Open the official ACT page and compare the current rule with the preset.
- Confirm the file is JPEG, PNG or BMP and inside the Up to 5 MB range.
- Check the face is centred, the background is plain and no hair covers the eyes.
- Keep a copy of the finished file in case the portal asks for it again.
