Why It Helps

A correct photo is one less thing to worry about. The preset keeps the frame and file weight inside the published range while you focus on the rest of the application.

What Is the US Diversity Visa Photo Resizer?

The Diversity Visa lottery uses the same digital photo rule as the DS-160: a square JPEG from 600 x 600 to 1200 x 1200 pixels, no larger than 240 KB. This tool prepares the minimum square frame.

Requirements Used by This Tool

  • Frame: 600 x 600 px (within 600-1200 px square)
  • File size: Up to 240 KB
  • Format: JPEG
  • Authority: US Department of State

How to Use It

  1. Upload a recent photo with no filters or heavy edits.
  2. Choose the Diversity Visa photo preset for US Department of State.
  3. Crop the face into a clean portrait frame.
  4. Run the resize and confirm the dimensions and file weight.
  5. Download and submit the file on the official portal.

Photo Notes

The lottery photo must be recent and natural. Filters, heavy editing and a photo of a photo are not accepted.

Limitations

Only one photo is submitted per entry, so check the file before the entry closes. The frame is strict; a landscape image will be rejected.

Good to Know

The lottery accepts one photo per entry. A square frame and a small file are safer than a high-resolution portrait that the entry form cannot upload.

Before You Upload

  • Open the official US Department of State page and compare the current rule with the preset.
  • Confirm the file is JPEG and inside the Up to 240 KB range.
  • Check the face is centred, the background is plain and no hair covers the eyes.
  • Keep a copy of the finished file in case the portal asks for it again.
