Anchorage Digital Bank Adds Custody for Etherlink Assets and Tokenized Uranium
Anchorage adds custody for Etherlink and tokenized uranium
Anchorage Digital Bank has added custody support for Etherlink and several assets built on the network. The bank, which holds a federal charter in the United States, now allows institutional clients to store these assets in segregated accounts.
The most notable addition is xU3O8, a token that represents ownership of physical uranium. This allows investors to gain exposure to the commodity through a digital token without handling the physical material.
Assets now supported
In addition to the Etherlink network itself, Anchorage will custody seven specific assets. These include:
- xU3O8 (tokenized uranium)
- WXTZ (wrapped Tezos)
- stXTZ (a liquid staking token for Tezos)
- USDT, USDC, and USDSM (stablecoins, which are digital tokens pegged to the value of the US dollar)
- WETH (wrapped Ether)
How tokenized uranium works
Tokenization is the process of turning rights to an asset, like physical uranium, into a digital token on a blockchain. According to Anchorage, this method changes how the commodity is traded. Traditional physical uranium exposure usually requires specialist intermediaries, has long settlement periods, and demands large minimum investments. Anchorage states that tokenization allows the asset to be transferred and settled in minutes instead of weeks.
Current data from CoinMarketCap shows xU3O8 has a market cap just above $9 million.
Part of a growing trend
Anchorage is not the only custodian to support these assets. In August 2025, Hex Trust became the first institutional custodian to integrate Etherlink, offering custody for xU3O8 and other assets on the network. Anchorage’s move signals increasing interest from major US banks in offering storage services for tokenized real-world assets.
