DeFi Development Corp Buys 19,000 Solana Tokens, Resumes Treasury Additions

Company increases Solana holdings by nearly 20,000 tokens

Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp (DFDV) has resumed adding Solana to its corporate treasury. The company acquired approximately 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.14. This purchase brings DFDV's total holdings to roughly 2.33 million SOL and related assets.

The company stated that the latest purchase was partially funded by proceeds from its ZeroStack divestment. DFDV previously signed a strategic partnership with ZeroStack in September 2025. The new Solana tokens are expected to be held for the long term and deployed through the company's staking infrastructure.

Staking is a process where token holders lock up their assets to support a blockchain network and earn rewards in return.

Trading performance and executive commentary

DFDV shares rose by more than twice the rate of Solana during August. Quarter-to-date, the company's stock has outperformed SOL by 1.8 times.

Joseph Onorati, CEO of DFDV, said in a release that the trading activity shows investors understand the company's value proposition. He noted that DFDV provides leveraged exposure to Solana, which means the stock moves with greater volatility than the token itself.

"Our equity has become one of the most liquid ways to express that view within the SOL DAT category, while our treasury continues to generate differentiated organic yield," Onorati said. "That combination of amplified SOL exposure, strong trading liquidity, and differentiated treasury yield is the DFDV model at work," he added.

New data platform and market updates

Earlier this week, DeFi Development Corp launched a public platform called "State of Solana." The platform provides real-time data and research on the Solana network. It tracks market metrics, staking data, validator information, yield rates, and ecosystem statistics.

At the time of publication, DFDV shares traded 12% higher at $5.04. This gave the company a market capitalization near $160 million. Despite the recent gain, DFDV stock remains down about 5.5% for the year.

Solana was up more than 11% over the past 24 hours to $107.11, according to The Block's price data. The token is up nearly 40% over the past month but remains down 14% in 2026.

What is confirmed

DeFi Development Corp bought roughly 19,000 SOL using funds partly from a ZeroStack sale. The company holds about 2.33 million SOL. The tokens will be staked for long-term yield. DFDV shares rose 12% after the announcement. Solana price rose 11% in the same period.

Why it matters for crypto investors

The purchase shows a publicly traded company is increasing its Solana treasury. It highlights how traditional finance vehicles are gaining exposure to major cryptocurrencies. The launch of the "State of Solana" platform also provides more transparent data for investors tracking the network.
