Selection Process — DTL Assistant Manager Recruitment 2026
There is no written test and no interview here. DTL will draw a merit list using your normalised GATE 2026 marks out of 100 in the relevant paper. Only GATE 2026 scores count — scores from GATE 2025 or any earlier year will not be accepted.
After the merit list is out, shortlisted candidates go through Document Verification and a Medical Examination. Keep your original certificates and GATE scorecard safe for this stage.

Training, Salary and Service Bond — DTL Assistant Manager Recruitment 2026
Selected candidates join a 1-year training period. The first three months are academic training at NPTI or a designated institute, where you must score at least 65% to qualify. The remaining nine months are field training at DTL substations and offices.
During training you are placed in Pay Level-09. On successful completion, you are absorbed into a regular Pay Level-10 post. You also have to sign a 3-year service bond — Rs. 5,00,000/- for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and Rs. 2,50,000/- for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

You can apply if you meet all of these:
- You are an Indian citizen.
- You hold an engineering degree in the matching branch — Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science / IT, or Civil.
- You scored at least 60% marks in your degree. SC, ST and PwBD candidates only need pass marks.
- You have a valid GATE 2026 score in the right paper code (EE, EC, CS or CE).
- Your age is between 18 and 28 years as on the closing date.
- For the Civil post, two years of RCC design and construction experience is an added plus.
