Jupiter Launches Unaudited YOLO Beta With Up to 1,000x Leverage
Jupiter introduces high-leverage trading product with payout delays
Jupiter has launched YOLO in beta, a new trading product that lets users bet on the price of Solana (SOL), Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) with up to 1,000x leverage. The product trades against Jupiter itself rather than other users, and the company warns that profitable traders may have to wait an unspecified amount of time to collect their winnings if the house runs low on funds.
In its Oct. 15 announcement, Jupiter said the entry point starts at around $10. Users can go long, betting on prices rising, or go short, betting on prices falling.
What makes YOLO different
Trading against pooled capital is not new for Jupiter. Its existing Jupiter Perps product also lets users trade SOL, ETH and wrapped Bitcoin against the Jupiter Liquidity Pool (JLP), which acts as the counterparty instead of an order book matching traders. Those perps markets are capped at 250x leverage and the protocol is audited.
YOLO pushes the ceiling higher to 1,000x and is explicitly unaudited. It is listed on Jupiter's product directory as an experimental product from Jupiter Labs, which the company describes as a "playground for fun, experimental products from Jupiter." Jupiter's own advice to users is: "Start small, don't YOLO your life savings."
Two risks for users
Users face two distinct risks when trading YOLO. The first is the expected one: losing their stake if a trade goes against them. The second is less common in crypto trading: if a user profits, there is no guaranteed payout time. Jupiter disclosed that unpaid profits will be queued and paid in the order they were claimed once the house replenishes its funds.
"No guaranteed payout time," Jupiter wrote in its accompanying disclosure.
What is confirmed
YOLO launched in beta on Oct. 15. It offers 500x to 1,000x leverage on SOL, BTC and ETH. The product is unaudited. Profits may be queued for payment if house funds run low. The launch was announced by Jupiter on X and the product is listed on Jupiter's official product directory.
Why this matters
High leverage amplifies both gains and losses. A 1,000x leveraged position means a 0.1% move against the trader wipes out the entire stake. The lack of an audit and the potential for delayed payouts make YOLO a significantly riskier product than Jupiter's audited perps offering, even though both trade against the same house model.
