Ripple Enhances $1 Billion Treasury Platform with AI Agents
Ripple Adds AI Tools to $1 Billion Treasury Platform
Ripple has integrated AI agents into its Ripple Treasury platform, a corporate finance service it acquired for $1 billion last year. The new software, known as GSmart, is designed to help companies monitor their cash flow, assess risks, and create financial forecasts.
The system is designed to identify problems and suggest financial moves based on specific company policies. However, the software cannot move money on its own. A human staff member must review and approve every recommendation before any action is executed.
Key Functions of the AI Treasury Agents
- Monitoring financial processes including liquidity, forecasting, and record reconciliation.
- Identifying potential financial issues and recommending specific solutions.
- Providing the specific company policies that support each recommendation.
- Using a tool called \"Ask GSmart\" to allow users to query corporate financial data.
How the GSmart Technology Functions
To ensure accuracy in high-stakes financial movements, Ripple uses two different types of software. Deterministic software is responsible for all mathematical calculations to prevent errors or false information. The AI is used specifically to find patterns, interpret policies, and explain the reasoning behind its suggestions.
The latest update includes a feature called Knowledge Studio. This serves as a policy layer where companies can input their specific financial rules for the AI to follow.
Current Adoption and Asset Management
Ripple reported that a significant portion of its eligible customers are already using these AI-driven features. Currently, 60% of eligible users have enabled the Risk Insights feature, while 44% use the Forecast Insights tool.
The platform allows corporate finance teams to manage both traditional money and digital assets in one place. This includes XRP, a digital currency used for payments, and RLUSD, which is a stablecoin—a type of digital asset designed to maintain a steady value relative to the US dollar.
Why AI Integration Matters for Corporate Finance
Integrating AI into treasury management is intended to help finance teams manage large amounts of capital more efficiently. By combining AI logic with human oversight and traditional calculation software, the system aims to provide better insights into cash positions without removing human control. The ability to manage traditional cash alongside digital assets like XRP and RLUSD allows companies to oversee all their holdings through a single interface.
