Securitize shares jump over 10% as tokenized Apple and Nvidia stocks launch on Solana

Tokenized US stocks arrive on Solana

Securitize's shares rose more than 10% on Thursday after the company launched tokenized versions of major US stocks on the Solana blockchain. The new "Securitize Stocks" offering gives eligible investors access to shares of 12 US-listed companies, including Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft and Tesla.

Each token is backed one-for-one by an underlying share held by Securitize. Investors will receive dividends and voting rights just like traditional shareholders. Trading begins during extended market hours through Securitize's registered broker-dealer platform, with plans to eventually move to round-the-clock trading.

Key details of the launch

  • Tokens represent security entitlements under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code
  • Settlement is done in USDC, a stablecoin tied to the US dollar, on the Solana blockchain
  • Jump Trading is providing liquidity through market-making services
  • Plans exist to list the tokens on platforms being built by the New York Stock Exchange and OKXICE, though no launch dates have been set
  • Ripple Prime may support the launch and integrate the assets into its institutional trading services
  • Decentralized lending platform Aave is being considered as a venue where these stocks could be used as collateral

Securitize sees second rally this week

Thursday's jump marked the second sharp intraday rally for Securitize shares this week. On Tuesday, the stock climbed nearly 8% after the company announced a partnership with South Korean firm LG CNS to explore tokenized funds, equities and stablecoins for financial institutions.

Securitize also signed a memorandum of understanding in September with Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority to support regulated tokenization initiatives in Dubai. Over the past month, the stock has gained roughly 54%, according to Yahoo Finance data.

Broader tokenization market grows

The launch comes as the overall market for tokenized real-world assets continues to expand. Data from RWA.xyz shows that distributed asset value excluding stablecoins reached $38.88 billion as of Thursday, up from $25.36 billion a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund recently warned that tokenized markets could amplify financial risks due to volatility and liquidity concerns, according to a separate Cointelegraph report published on Thursday.

What's next

Securitize plans to expand trading beyond extended market hours, but has not announced a specific timeline for 24/7 trading. No launch date has been set for the NYSE or OKXICE platforms. Ripple Prime did not respond to requests for additional details by publication time.
