Solana ETFs See Record $188 Million Weekly Inflows Led by Bitwise
Record weekly demand for Solana funds
U.S. spot Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted a record $188 million in net inflows last week. Spot ETFs allow investors to gain exposure to SOL through standard brokerage accounts without needing to manage a crypto wallet. Every one of the seven available funds received new money during this period.
The surge included a single-day record on Friday, when funds took in approximately $87 million. This was the largest daily intake since the products launched.
Bitwise dominates the flow
- Bitwise's BSOL fund led the group with about $128 million in inflows, representing 68% of the weekly total.
- Grayscale's GSOL followed with $28 million, and Fidelity's FSOL added $18 million.
- Morgan Stanley, VanEck, Franklin Templeton, and 21Shares combined for the remaining $14 million.
- Since launch, Bitwise's product has captured roughly $1.2 billion of the group's total $1.6 billion in cumulative net inflows.
Context from market data
According to weekly figures shared by Solana's official account, the buying trend extended beyond Solana. U.S. Bitcoin ETFs attracted about $2.4 billion during the same week, while Ethereum products added roughly $690 million, based on calculations using Farside's daily figures.
Solana (SOL) traded around $119 during Monday Asian morning hours. This price remains about 60% below its all-time high near $293.
Network upgrades underway
The influx of capital coincides with technical developments on the Solana blockchain. Developers are currently testing "Alpenglow," an upgrade designed to reduce payment finality time from approximately 12.8 seconds to roughly 150 milliseconds.
This update reached the network's second public testing environment on Friday. While the speed improvement is the goal, no launch date for the live blockchain has been announced yet.
What remains uncertain
While the Alpenglow upgrade aims to significantly increase transaction speed, the specific date for its activation on the main network is not yet known.
