Standard Chartered offers Bitcoin trading in the UAE

Standard Chartered has launched Bitcoin spot trading for institutional clients in the United Arab Emirates, the bank announced on Thursday. This is the first service of its kind in the country.

The bank stated that eligible institutional clients can now access the trading service. Standard Chartered had previously introduced digital asset custody services in the UAE in 2024.

What the bank says

Rola Abu Manneh, Chief Executive Officer for the UAE, Middle East, and Pakistan at Standard Chartered, said the UAE has a clear regulatory framework for digital assets that supports institutional participation and innovation.

She added that the bank is providing clients with an integrated way to participate in digital asset markets by combining execution with secure custody, governance, and global connectivity.
