Coast Guard Navik Photo and Signature Resizer
Resize your Indian Coast Guard Navik photo and signature for the CGEPT application. The tool exports the photo at 413 x 531 pixels and the signature at 413 x 200 pixels, both JPEG between 50 KB and 150 KB, using the stored Coast Guard preset. Confirm the figures in your batch notice before uploading.

Who this Navik photo tool is for
The Indian Coast Guard enrols sailors in the Navik cadre through the Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT). Navik is offered in two branches, Navik (General Duty) and Navik (Domestic Branch), each with its own qualifying class set out in the batch notice. Whichever branch you pick, the online form wants a face photograph and a signature before the application can be submitted, and the scan you took on your phone almost never matches the pixel box this form expects.
Notices, admit cards and results for the CGEPT batches are published on the Coast Guard recruitment site, joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in. Read the notice for your own batch there before you upload anything.
What the Navik form asks you to upload
This page prepares two files:
- Photograph: a recent colour head-and-shoulders photo, exported at 413 x 531 pixels.
- Signature: your running signature in dark ink on white paper, exported as a wide 413 x 200 pixel strip.
The figures below are the values stored in this tool's Indian Coast Guard preset. We could not open the current CGEPT notice to confirm them, so treat the notice for your batch as the authority. If it prints a different pixel size or KB window, follow the notice.
Navik preset values
| Upload | Output size | Format | File weight | Min DPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 413 x 531 px | JPEG | 50 KB to 150 KB | 96 |
| Signature | 413 x 200 px | JPEG | 50 KB to 150 KB | 96 |
One oddity worth knowing: the preset's photo label reads "3.5x2.5cm", yet the tool exports the photo at 413 x 531 pixels, a portrait frame. The pixel figure is what you actually get in the downloaded file.
Making the two Navik files
- The Indian Coast Guard preset is already selected. Choose Photo or Signature on the Type step.
- Click Browse file or drag in a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Frame the face with Show face mask guide switched on, then press Apply crop. For the signature, crop close to the ink.
- No caption is needed for this preset, so press Skip caption.
- Check the comparison table, then press Download processed image. Use Start over for the second file.
Notes for Navik GD and DB applicants
The floor of 50 KB is unusually high for a 413 pixel wide signature. If a plain signature comes out lighter than that, the tool raises it toward the window instead of leaving it under. A 150 KB ceiling leaves plenty of room for a sharp face, so there is no reason to submit a blurry, over-compressed photo. Avoid caps, dark glasses and heavy beauty filters; the face in the form should look like the person who turns up at the exam centre.
