RRB Ministerial posts: photo and signature files

Ministerial and clerical posts under the Railway Recruitment Boards use the same common application as other RRB notices. The photo and signature are small files, but the declaration and thumb impression can also appear in the upload list. This page applies the stored RRB shapes so each document can be prepared separately.

Stored shapes used by the RRB record

The record contains a 200×230 px photo in a 20–50 KB window, a 140×60 px signature in a 10–20 KB window, a 240×240 px left thumb impression in a 20–50 KB window and an 800×400 px handwritten declaration in a 50–100 KB window. Centimetre versions are also stored at 96 and 200 DPI.

These are stored values. The notice for your ministerial post is the authority; confirm which uploads are required and what limits apply. The presets have not been changed.

Why the declaration needs care

A clerical application is often rejected because the declaration is cropped, shadowed or unreadable, not because the photo is wrong. Write on plain paper, keep the full text inside the frame and avoid pressing so hard that the pen tears the page. Photograph it from directly above.

Photo and signature workflow

Choose the photo preset, crop the head and shoulders and process the file. Then choose the signature preset and crop around the strokes. Check the dimensions and byte size of each download. If the notice also asks for a thumb impression, use the left thumb and a clean white background.

Document checklist for ministerial posts

Keep the photo, signature, thumb impression and declaration in one folder with clear names. Check that each file opens after download and that the dimensions match the preset. A declaration photographed at an angle may look acceptable on a phone but fail the portal crop or legibility check, so inspect it at full size before uploading.
